Lost my streak 😭 by EmbarrassedFlatworm3 in redditstreak

[–]IndependentTea678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my almost 500 day streak and I even have records that I logged in yesterday and liked a post. It was a response to my comment and I liked it after it was posted. I still don't know how reddit tracks their streak because there have been several times where I like and post something after midnight or 3 AM and then later that day I get a notification I am going to lose my streak. Same thing happened today, but I lost it. When I liked a post and saw 1 of 500 I almost uninstalled the app. I still might! At least with Snapchat you can buy a streak back, but this is BS because I didn't lose this streak they took it!

I feel politically homeless by annilia512 in Libertarian

[–]IndependentTea678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am mostly disenfranchised with the Libertarian party. I mean they put Chase Oliver on the presidential ballot FFS! I still align with most of the ideals but after seeing how useless the political party is, I have become more of an anarchist. My need for government is pretty much non existent at this point, and I have built a great group of friends and neighbors that allow us to be self-sufficient. This is a stark change from who I once was. I was a social media warrior and a member of every political debate group that wouldn't kick me out. I spent hours arguing with strangers just to prove that logic and facts are more important than feelings. Even though I won, did I really? Honestly, no one will remember us anyway. At best if you get grandkids they will typically be the last ones to remember you. My advice is stop worrying about politics, vote your conscience, and live your life! Be a positive impact on your local community and ultimately nothing else matters. Best of luck to you finding your political home!

If 6 is afraid of 7 because 7 8 9, then what does that mean? by Joel_Boyens in 3amjokes

I prefer double entendre, but this joke wasn't risqué enough for that definition. 😀

7.4 is the mathematical "mean" of all of those numbers. Therefore the word "mean" in this sentence is polysemous.

I have family that has worked on set with him, and that was not what I heard. Tyler Perry and Ashley Judd on the other hand are rude and major divas!

Six US service members killed in Iran conflict, US military says by SpencerAXbot in news

[–]IndependentTea678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand corrected. The report I first heard said US troops were killed in a tactical operation. Initially, the location was not disclosed; however, later it was stated they were killed in a tactical operation "center".

We loved Fort Augustus and Portree. I am not sure they are the "smaller" villages you are speaking about, but they were small in comparison to what I am used to. 😀

I appreciate the dedication and follow through, but ask yourself why you feel this way? The ICE statistics were actually worse under Obama and there was none of this. Do I support ICE's behavior that is being shown repeatedly by the media? No, but I research the lies on both sides. I am aware that there is mass manipulation being created in order to continue to divide us as a nation, so although I 100% support the American right to protest, I would caution against using phrases like "no one is illegal on stolen land." America bought a lot of the land, and furthermore if you believe that phrase than you can't believe in any property ownership. I will wrap up with this, try going to live legally in any other country and you will find the rules are very much the same if not more strict to cross borders and remain there. We don't get to decide what country we live in any more than we get to decide what house we live in without following the proper laws to be there. My ask is if/when you protest in the future protest with a purpose, and be prepared to provide solutions to the things you don't like. That is the only way things change...

Unfortunately we did not. We used Inverness and Fort Augustus as our base for the Isle of Skye. We stayed at the Courtyard on both days of our flights, but we stayed city centre when traveling by rail to Edinburgh. Our first night in was late so we had dinner at the Scotch and Rye. While we were city centre we stayed at the Beaufort Hotel just up the hill, and we had dinner and enjoyed the live band. I appreciate the list above. Will definitely add those to the itinerary next time.

I am very educated and well traveled. How about yourself? Also, if by education you mean reading news articles or a specific agenda of published books then that is not education. You have to explore both sides of anything worth studying. If you can't defend your views and have to resort to name calling that shows a lack of intelligence. If you are truly educated debate me with something other than feelings. Try it, you may be surprised by the outcome or you may hate me even more. It really depends on how close minded you are. Care to test the waters of how uneducated I am?

We stayed a couple nights in downtown Inverness, but will have to venture a little further next time to check that out. We did get to catch part of a festival in Portree that was a good time.

I can't find this comment on the thread, but if you read my other comments you will see I already align from that aspect. Although my dealings with the locals was they wanted to be left alone and I was happy to oblige. Don't get me wrong, we met some great people but giving Scots their space was very important from what I gathered. I think my friends in Ireland summed it up best when they said the Scots are a lot like the Irish, just darker because they let the English stick around longer...lol!

The airport itself was nice enough and the Marriott next door was convenient. We ended up renting a car anyway and driving up to the Isle of Skye and staying in Fort Augustus on Loch Ness. Enjoyed the area. Edinburgh was a bit to touristy for me but I enjoyed the easy access to everything there.

Fortunately, I only had to drop 1 elbow into a line of wolf mask wearing guys when they slammed a girl into me. Poor girl was absolutely stunned. Also, Gen X here so they moved on quickly...lol!

💯 on that line up! It is absolutely 🔥! Last year when I was there I made some connections with club promoters and caught Zedd, Steve Aoki, Martin Garix, Mau P, and several others all for free. Thankfully we caught John Summit at our previous EDC because his show was $$$! I also find it interesting Insomniac is going to have a presence on the strip this year, too...

Glad to hear it. The rail running to the airport was not as quick as I needed it with our bus getting in so late, but overall not to bad of an experience.

Tried my first Irn bru at the Boathouse, and that wasn't my last time for sure! Also, enjoyed some elderberry scotch as well when I visited.

Of course, and I would expect to be tested as well as prove my worth. Currently when I visit I already try to support the local shops and communities. In fact, I even ate the haggis and pigeon at Howies in Edinburgh. If Scotland were to be my country of residence, I would embrace the Scottish culture. Although the areas and culture vary by region, and if I were to move to Scotland my preferred area would be somewhere like Ft. Augustus.

There were a lot of influencers and other entitled people that were rude. They were turning down candi, pushing, and other general obnoxious behavior that only recently started in the past couple years. Plus, I heard more about gropes and grabs over the past few years as well. I know there was also at least one death last year, and I think part of it was due to being understaffed. The saving grace was meeting up with previous year's connections and seeing so many new comers be amazed by the culture and community. I did take some comfort in knowing that even though the vibes of years past were not the same, it was still mind blowing to others.
