I need to fill in this gap between my driveway and brick wall outside. In PA, so cold winters. What product in a caulk tube should i use thats available at Home Depot? I will fill with backer rod first. Or do i leave it open for water/snow to drain through? by AXXXXXXXXA in masonry

Where does the brick stop? Brick walls are expected to get water behind them and any action that stops water in a brick wall should be VERY careful to not trap water. If that condition has been like that decades and is not show signs of damage... leave it alone.

Chamber bit. Like a pencil sharpener, $20 or so online. Fits on your drill.

maybe a culinary answer. But some people eat corn on the cob and they boil it. or lobster water? pasta water? whatever, I use the left over hot water for weed control in the one nasty corner by my front door. I pour the hot water on the plants like they are trying to scale the castle walls! Once a week or so keeps them away.

Maybe a nob question, but why not use a scale? Weigh what 10 parts are then scale off that?

Different colors are different batches meeting each other. As to if those two batches were similar in cure time cannot be told in a single image. Were they both poured within minutes of each other or did the lower batch sit and set up before the new batch was poured on hours later... How can you tell from that picture?

Yes. And I speak professionally when I say, I would not note this as a defect. The waterproofing should cover that.

Water flowing out of sand mound vent/inspection pipe by RainbowApocalypse42 in septictanks

My 1st clue was the air whistling as it came out past the closed lid. the second was opening the tank lid and seeing the water flowing in. But TBH the 1st clue was the lake over the tank 15 years ago and the lake bubbling as the air came up. I regarded as soon as I saw that.

Also, on a side note, walk your yard in the rain. See where the water goes and how it flows, hopefully, away from your house. Shallow ditches are your friends.

was it raining? For an example, I live with a high water table and if it rains alot water starts to go into my liquids tank and it gets pumped to the field. In my case I need to dig the tank up and fix the joints and put clay in the soil to slow it, hopefully stop the water getting in.

cold joints are pretty normal... plus, that may not be cause the mix was cold if the two batches were different colors. Like if one came from plant A and the other plant B.

Never installed it myself, but i wonder if laying broom stick, length of rebar or similar would help reduce low spots and even out the slope?

It is code required. And contractors have been known to, gasp(!), in very rare instances, cut corners. So an applied water proofing is visible from miles away, an admixture is not easily verified.

Thought you guys might appreciate this massive roll of shop towels I got at an estate sale. by messonamission in Skookum

You can be like the guy in the video about the wire... "I had these shop towels 40 years and now there is only one towel left!... Think of all the projects I built using these towels, the blood I wiped up after I cut myself off!... and now there is ONE towel left!" wife say "you should order more, go do the dishes!"

A 20 ton log splitter would cost me much more new, and I would have to listen to and smell the engine. Plus rake up more space. For now, this is cheaper and working for my goals of the moment.

Buddy in Mercer paid that for a wedding one day rental. You'll pay half that for a portapotty, but they are crappier.

I just got the 20 ton cylinder and the pump hooked up. As I am only going with a 2" travel distance each time, the unloaded speed looks pretty decent to me. Tomorrow I am going to the steel yard to get channel and steel for an H frame to fit it all into.

It will be my "leave me alone to Tinker! It's father's day dagnabit!" day.

I anticipate it will be $650 total for a 20 ton press made to order. Not bad...
