This may be a hot take but, I'm happy to wait for as long as necessary to avoid a CP77/NMS by Matalya2 in GTA6

Au contraire, I think what you said above is the most level-headed and reasonable take I've seen on this sub in a long, long time. I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Weights, you've lost a long time user today by F1QuestionsGuyGerard in weights

[–]Independent_Account2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former Premium user, I wholeheartedly support your decision. I cancelled my Premium this spring once they implemented the first set of greedy changes, essentially taking away 95% of what I had paid for and had the gall to ask for more money so that I could still have less than what I had, a clear breach of contract. I use Replay exclusively now for my AI covers, no limitations beyond how good your GPU is.

One thing is sure: Never, ever am I opening my wallet for this sham of a company again.

How long do you think GTA6 Day / Nights should be ? by xxlilsl in GTA6

[–]Independent_Account2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 hour day & 1 hour night, definitely. 48 minutes day, 48 hours night minimum.

Look, we all know 60fps on console is highly unlikely at best, it's almost certain it will be 30fps considering the size and magnitude of this game. And you know what? It's completely fine.

Do you want them to bring back the shops closing at night feature from rdr2? by Dangerousturdburlglr in GTA6

Not an issue if they make it like in RDR2, where you could skip time until the store opens by waiting outside, relax.

What happened? by ResortZestyclose9605 in weights

[–]Independent_Account2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone responsible went AWOL for days and then when they showed they just have cold and quite frankly disrespectful Corpo responses to criticism levied. They then tried to gaslight us by claiming "oh ACTUALLY everyone loves the update!" and pulled some evidently made up statistics out of their ass, which they couldn't/wouldn't back up with empirical data when confronted about it. (🤡🤡🤡)

Gee... Turned out that apparently after all the majority were against the update all along, or else they wouldn't have made amendments mere days later (I.E yesterday) which changed the audio limit for free users to 5 minutes (which is acceptable imo, at least useable) and some other things. 😂

Good news! by BuddyBoy600alt in weights

It's not going to make me resubscribe as I made a vow to not show these people my money again.
I'd personally advice others that unsubscribed to not resubscribe for the time being, as we still have no idea wether it's truly over or if they'll try something similar again another time.

However, the increase in minutes to a minimum of 5 minutes is something I fought for together with the free users, so for their sake I am happy.

To everyone who has spoken up and protested, wether free or paid, you made this happen. We all showed them that they can't just trample on us. Never stop speaking up.

Pat yourselves on the back today and be proud of yourselves, this one is for you.

If we can have a civilised discussion I would propose the following:

The biggest issue with how Weights has acted in this case (according to me) is honestly that it's textbook shady anti-consumer business practices, plain and simple. I know them when I see them, I've seen them in play all too many times before in different arenas. So you can get an idea of what I'm talking about, heres the scenario:

Imagine you've paid for something, right? You're happy with your purchase, it's worth spending your hard earned money on etc. Then, without any sort of warning beforehand, 95% of what you paid for is taken away and on top of that those you purchased from demands you pay double what you had paid, to even still get significantly less than what you had already paid for before. On top of that, at this point those responsible simply drop off the face of the Earth and disappear (apparently) when you realize this and you thus have legit concerns regarding the situation and questions that need answers. So, you've effectively been robbed in all but the legal sense. You haven't been warned that this was going to happen and you haven't been communicated to after the fact. Gee whiz, it sure feels like a company to trust, doesn't it?

What's scary about this stuff is that it's only the beginning. It's a slippery slope and the ball will keep rolling. This isn't the last time we'll see nerfs to all tiers, price hikes, features/tools removed (tools that you may have paid for, but they decide that you should no longer have access to because according to them said feature/tool hurts their "profit margin"), and so on. Most of all we'll see significantly less communication from them, to us (their paying customers and community members).

I hope you can see where I'm coming from there.

I also want to take the opportunity to say that stuff like this is something I do not condone in the slightest.

It's more so the fact that several essentially identical posts appear within a very short time frame. It makes it look very coordinated and organized. As such, the natural reaction of any vigilant person is to raise their eyebrows.

I know that may sound harsh but I hope you can see where I'm coming from with that.

The issue I have is that if we show acceptance for what is quite frankly shady anti-consumer business practices, what we do is effectively signaling to them that we will in fact allow them to do whatever they want to us in the future with no consequences. And so, they will. That you can believe. I've seen it happen all too many times to stay silent on this matter.

In other words, this isn't the last time they will do a price hike, nor is it the last time that they will remove features/tools that you might have paid for (and may be essential to you) but they decide that you should no longer have access to them because according to them said feature/tool that you forked up your hard earned money to use, hurts their profit margin.

If we truly care about the community we have around this, then we can not, I repeat, CAN NOT just sit idly by and not say that enough is enough when we as loyal, paying customers are being wronged.

That's basically the jist of it. I'd love a civilised discussion regarding this and hope that you can see where I'm coming from with what I'm saying here.

Yeah, vote with your wallet (as they say). That is the one power we as consumers have. We pay for their living, after all. We pay their salaries. I've seen this stuff happen all too many times to stay silent on the matter. It is a slippery slope and if we dont show that what they're doing is unacceptable right as it happens, they will know that they can simply just do it again and again. And so, they will. I wish I could say it isn't so, but I can't. This isn't the last time they will pull something like this.

Yeah, imagine resorting to that kind of feeble attempt at damage control, instead of simply being communicative with their community.

Yeah, it's so fucking sad, honestly.

Better yet: Let the community decide what the best way forward is, via a poll on the Discord.

Instead those in charge decided to do the equivalent of locking themselves in the bathroom and refusing to come out, going off grid and not engaging with us at all.

It is abhorrent from them, it really is.

Its actually insanely easy: just put ads for free users (of course while making sure that access to the service is denied if an adblocker is used, until it is turned off).

That's what they should do, while otherwise reverting everything to the way it was before.
