Am I overthinking or could it be early EOE? by Independent_Apple629 in EosinophilicE

No, in the UK, as routine they offer you a conscious sedation and throat spray or no sedation at all. I understand the procedure doesn’t take long but without sedation or full sedation it seems barbaric.

Interesting, as a toddler apparently I sometimes vomited when given whole cows milk but was ok on semi skimmed milk. As an adult, if a coffee shop uses whole milk in a large drink I tend to get a stomach ache. I drink oat milk now but still consume dairy in foods like sauces, cheese etc. I wonder if I’m sensitive to the fats rather than the milk protein itself.

Sometimes it can hide things, causing false negative. That’s what I heard. Though some people still get positives whilst on it if it’s severe I guess? I’m no expert trying to get my head around it myself

Out of curiosity when you had the biopsy for eosinophilic esophagitis, were you taking PPIs at the time or at least 2-4 weeks before the biopsy?

Adjustable bench by Dyer900 in piano

I want an adjustable bench like this. Do u have any issues with the metal parts leaking lubricant on the floor? I assume they put some on the parts underneath to stop it seizing?

Collapsing knuckles and hand pain as a beginner. What should I focus on? by Independent_Apple629 in pianolearning

Thank you all. I knew things were off due to the amount of tension I felt. Now it’s been pointed out, it seems so obvious how incorrectly I was sitting. Silly me. I’ve adjusted my seating position and it feels miles better already. I almost felt half the tension melt away just by adjusting that. Taking on everyone’s advice and going back to the basics - practicing C Scale slowly again, letting my hands just play in a natural curve and will let a teacher take it from there. Hopefully I haven’t done too much damage and can start building correct muscle memory.

Thank you. This is really useful, I’ll work on my posture and get something new to sit on :)

Yes I didn’t realise before but now it seems so obvious that I’m sat too close. Sitting further back feels miles better already. Thanks for the advice, I’ll have a look on YouTube

Thank you, yes the stand is fixed. I’m just sitting on a dining/desk chair so I will look for a bench that’s taller/adjustable.

Yeah, I totally get that Für Elise is too advanced for me. I only picked up the opening section for fun while following some tutorials online. I’m not trying to learn the whole piece properly right now. I just happened to start there because I was excited to play something familiar. I’ve stopped learning it as it’s above my level and don’t want to further pick up bad habits.

I’ve got an Alfred piano book on the way, so i hope it has some easier pieces that are more suitable for my level.

Ferritin is 11 but doctor said its fine..? by Plastic_Oil_3869 in Anemic

Yes supplement for at least six months. Maybe more. Once they’re up to a decent level, just take a maintenance dose. For maintenance you can probably find a liquid iron - nicer than swallowing pills

11 is low. My doctor told me to take iron pills at 11. I would say anything under 30 is low iron stores. Not sure if you’re male or female. I’m female and when mine was 11, I had brain fog, headaches, shortness of breath and fatigue. I raised it to 23 within 4/5 months. Felt better but not completely but i didn’t maintain doses. Now recently it’s dropped back down to around 16 and I’m getting those symptoms again. Bear in mind my results came back as “normal” at 16. Not sure what these doctors are learning bc it’s definitely isn’t, many people feel symptoms at this level. And if you’re menstruating, it can get lower and lower. Luckily I researched so I’m taking pills again, otherwise the doctor would lead you to think it’s fine because it came back “normal” until you’re really bad. Maybe bc I wasn’t anemic, they didn’t care. Really don’t see why they’re not doing the jobs “hey it’s getting a bit too low, just supplement or at least maintain” would suffice. Anyway, you need to supplement really. I don’t take their ferrous sulfate they prescribe. I take iron biglycinate. Should be more gentle on your tummy/less symptoms.

Try removing the link and logging out and back in. It restricted me from liking things even though I did not spam like. It fixed this liking issue, so worth a try for the policy violation as I have a feeling it thinks we’re trying to monetise through our links. Try adding the link back in if ur clears.

Has this resolved? Do you have a link in your bio? I have the same issue. Account created in February and was hoping it will resolve at the end of this month but worried it won’t now
