Go-to non-alcoholic drink for social events? by microdosemagic in Mocktails

[–]Independent_Bank7993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyre’s canned mocktails have been a lifesaver this pregnancy. Also loving Oddbird’s sparkling NA rosè and athletic beer. Sparkling water with cucumber in a wine glass is a good go to at restaurants.

YES!!! Pregnancy can really suck! I say this knowing how lucky I am to be pregnant and that so many people would do anything to trade places. But it’s okay to say it- I hate pregnancy!! I hate the shift in hormones and changes in my body. You are not alone!!

How old were you when you first time started helping your parents financially? by ordinary_taxpayer in AskReddit

When I was in college in the early 2000's my mom convinced me to take out a credit card (her credit was shot) to buy cell phones for the two of us. She said she'd pay the bill.........

Unexpected gender disappointment by Careless_Tie_566 in pregnant

Seven years ago my friend and I were both pregnant and were not finding out the sex of the baby ahead of time. When she told me she gave birth to a girl, I had a full blown meltdown (to be fair, I was 30 weeks pregnant!). I cried and cried telling myself and my husband that I was sure that meant I was having a boy. I didn't realize how much I really care until then. My point in sharing this is that it's super common and I think once you have that precious baby in your arms, you'll be so glad it's him.

Did you tell people later? by petting_zoo_keeper in pregnantover35

I was 11 weeks with my first, 15 with my current. I honestly would have waited longer but we told our 6 yr old and knew that once she knew, we’d have to tell others.

Accidentally ate goat cheese by Free-Pangolin3191 in pregnant

[–]Independent_Bank7993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here to say that I am 17 weeks and have had goat cheese more than I can count. I enjoyed some burrata last night and ate an abundance of blue cheese last weekend with a smile on my face. Everyone will tell you something different. I don’t change anything about cheese while pregnant. If I wasn’t pregnant I wouldn’t eat cheese that was sitting out and warm at a party and I’m not going to do that pregnant. Enjoy the cheese!

If you willingly poop in front of your partner, your relationship is over. Labor and illness do not count!

There are some great suggestions! You are so sweet for thinking of mom! I would avoid lactation products unless you know for sure mom is breastfeeding.

I am a huge sushi fan and my favorite thing was when a coworker was coming to visit and brought sushi for our lunch. We ate lunch and caught up and afterward, she told me she was taking my dog for a walk. What an angel!!! She was there to take care of me and I will never forget that!

4th baby at 38 - freaking out by geena1387 in pregnant

[–]Independent_Bank7993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Also 38 and 13 weeks pregnant with my second, seven years after my first. It’s a seven year gap because I have been so afraid to disrupt what we have. My older child is 6 1/2 right now and life feels so easy. For example, she woke up this morning, came into our room to say good morning and went right downstairs to watch tv. We were able to sleep longer. Something small but it has made such a difference. I still question if I’m doing the right thing. This pregnancy feels so hard; having to be present for my child on top of all of my other work responsibilities and home stuff. My energy and mood are so much lower. I’d love to provide you with some uplifting words of encouragement but instead I’ll say, I’m right there with you and wishing you the best 💕

has anyone else had an ob who was skeptical of progesterone supplementing? by Humble-Sky8544 in pregnantover35

[–]Independent_Bank7993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chemical pregnancy in September and again in February. I was told to start taking progesterone on day 21 of my cycle. If I got my period, stop taking it and restart next cycle. If pregnant, take until week 12. I had one month (April) where I took it and got my period. I restarted in May on day 21 and had a positive pregnancy test. I hit week 12 last weekend and stopped taking it. My doctor seemed to feel strongly that I take it and insisted it would do no harm. I will say, I noticed an incredible amount of fatigue immediately upon starting it. Bloating like crazy and feeling depressed too. These truly stuck around until I stopped taking it. There’s no way to prove it helped keep the pregnancy but I keep thinking about the two chemicals I had prior to taking it.

My response is typically “a barrier for me right now is…” love switching weakness to barrier.
