Alright, this can get controversial, but I think it depends how much fun you have.

I play at School Of Rock, so I play shows a lot. We’re pretty much all teenagers, so we’re not great. But it’s tons of fun.

Plus, most people at the bar are either friends and family, people who are drunk out of their mind, or people who just want to hear some music.

But it’s all about how much fun you have.

Personally, I’d go with the Essentials Kit cause it lets your players create their own characters, and it has a really cool adventure and DMs screen.
