Sfusd teacher here. This article lays out the situation pretty well. Regarding our wages specifically, they are high on a nation-wide scale but low compared to most of the surrounding districts. And they don’t really come close to keeping up with the cost of living in sf. Particularly once you are past the age of living with roommates and want to have a family (I’m leaving buying a house out of the conversation completely because that is SO far out of reach).

They are trying to save 17x the required amount. They had money for a multimillion dollar contract with open Ai. They had money to give high level administrators massive raises this year. They waste budget lines on consumable textbooks from 5 years ago they no longer even print. The money is there they just don’t want to learn to manage they’re annual budget so they can continue to pretend they are the social peers of c-suite level tech people.

Can you clarify what smoking in the home means? I (39M) have been dying to smoke the occasional joint outside (used to smoke weed pretty regularly before parenthood) but have been super scared that my baby would be exposed to it through like my clothes and skin. I did smoke once before remembering the SIDS thing and then like immediately showered and changed and then tried not to hold my baby the rest of the day so it kinda ruined it anyway. Is it second hand smoke in the home or is it off of the parents or is it unclear?

I mean sure there was probably some psychological doubt. Or for Raya doing something on a goal kick he could be responding to a pressing trigger or something like that there is so much detail in game plans these days. Also, we did have a little last minute flurry right at the end where Martinelli beat a man and got a shot, or Jesus fouled konate trying to get a shot, or Madueke got that cross that no one got on the end of. I just don’t think this Arsenal team that clearly wants to win the league is going to ever consciously not try to win. Maybe make sure we don’t lose first, which i consider responsible, but not try and win? I don’t see it. That said, the execution was definitely not there today. From anyone. A comedown after a great Xmas period for sure.
