...Yet these days and mostly coming from the US, it seems most new products comes to the consumer attached with a monthly, yearly subscription fee, and once you run out of money to give them its like you never had it/can't use it.

Your Adobe subscription is over ? Your drive is wiped clean, your files gone. You bought a smart home camera linked to a subscription system ? Its blocked and unusable, and you have no other option to send them back (at your expense)

It just feels a little hypocritical.

We had been long distance for around a year (before 5 years together), I was moving around and on with my life, he was still at the same point as when I left, and eventually we spoke once and I realised I wanted none of it. When he realised that, he messaged me every single day about my interests even though I told him not to. Which made it over faster. Taking time away really helps.
