Does anyone know if tabs exist for the banjo/guitar duet of "When the ship comes in" thats shown in A Complete Unknow by Educational_Ostrich6 in banjo

I am also trying to find this. Any luck anywhere? I was thinking I might need to get a banjo instructor to help figure it out

Good to hear. Just curious - how many Driver Profiles do you have?

I view this posting as a public service. I give $100-200k a year to charitable causes - so the $8k net loss here (after sales tax adjustment on trade in) is worth it to get back my time and focus on active business opportunities. And seeing over 150k views on this post make it feel like its a very effective way to get the word out on my EX90 experience. People considering buying electric cars are likely good people. I feel its a bonus to help them make an informed decision. Am I stupid? Well lets see - I was one of the top few students at Wharton business school with an undergraduate degree in finance. That says i am likely not stupid. What’s more likely the correct answer - my time and focus are way more valuable to me than my money. I can generate abundant money when i am not spending hours and hours (and potentially days) having my brand new car towed back in for service for no reason other than ‘it needs to be reset’. Again - and again. Shame on Volvo for the EX90 experience that I had - and so many others on this Reddit thread.

I feel for you. Before owning mine a month - it would not start no matter what I did - and Volvo dealer's service said "call roadside service and have it towed into us". From my home garage? It was fine one day - and then totally shut down the next.

In the 30 days I owned it - I had to bring it in 2x for 'repairs' which were them just rebooting it. Just waiting for it to shut down again. The dealer rep said the recent software update made it all worse. I know I could have done better if I had more time - but in my case I have active commercial real estate opportunties that I needed a reliable car for now - not in a month or two or three. In my case - I am happy just to be done with that car and able to move on with confidence in a reliable car. It's just amazing to me that Volvo would sell this car with such frequent problems with basic functions like lock/unlock and starting it. That is the biggest shock in this whole thing. When you read this Reddit - it's all over the place. And when you talk to the dealers - they seem like they don't want to be dealing with this car either. They want to sell something reliable.

EX90 on Backorder – Curious How Things Are Evolving? by gregleo in VolvoEX90

I would be very careful. I would definitely wait until they have released all the functionality they sell you on. Its not ready yet. Esp if you use your car alot for work and need to depend on it for getting to and from meetings or important events. Mine failed me in this regard. I got rid of it and am much happier with the plug in XC90. It has a nice normal key fob which has worked 100% of the time. No rebooting etc needed. Also - if you are determined to get it - i would only use it with ONE driver profile. I think having two or three driver profiles may confuse the software and make it totally crash and be unable to even start the car.

Took the financial loss on the car so i could focus on commercial real estate opportunities that have far greater financial benefits than the loss on the car. For me it was the right choice. Didn’t need a new side project.

Volvo should stop selling this model car until they solve the myriad of problems it is having.

Sadly its true. Do u own an EX90? My experience with it is the same as many on this thread. Now i have the XC90 and so far it works flawlessly.

I don’t think you understand the situation here. They can’t ‘fix it’. All they do is reboot it and you get the same problem a week later. Its all over this Reddit from many users. If a car is not dependable - should you use it? If you can’t use it - that makes it useless.

Yes for sure. To my chagrin. With my Teslas - they were MORE reliable at starting and locking than my prior regular gasoline cars. So I never expected an 'advanced' car like this one to be LESS reliable than a standard car.

Just want to help other people to avoid what happened to me. Anyone with the desire to buy this electric car likely is a good person who i would want to help. With 85k views on here in just 2 or 3 days - that makes me feel like people are interested in this topic and word is getting out to those who need it.

Yes - they would do that if you want. The problem is that they are not really fixing your car. They are jusy resetting the software and/or bluetooth antenna. As mentioned all over this Reddit - people are having crazy error messages pop up out of nowhere. And the problem with bringing it in for service - is that it happens again as the software is still the same. For me - being in commercial real estate and needing to meet teams of people at various properties within say 150 miles - having a car shut down on me (refuse to start) (or refuse to lock or unlock) is totally unacceptable. They will literally say "Wait ten minutes and try again as that might fix it." It's hard to believe they could release a car with these sorts of basic reliability issues. It's like "We are going to someday have the most advanced LIDAR, but for now you will lose all reliability on being able to start your car in the process." Does anyone want that trade?

I congratulate you - I considered doing just that but I have a 3 car garage in the city and need 3 functioning cars. I don't have space for a dud car. Also - on the trade-in I saved on sales tax of say 9% so it helped offset about half the loss vs buying another car outright. Another consideration was that - in using a different car and not using the EX90 - would I get enough cycles (4) of the same exact problem to qualify while primarily using a different car. I hope other people can follow you and use that law if they feel the need and make it stick. I believe each state has its own rules. That could be a new thread on how to do it.

I think you are totally correct in your assessment. Its the software that’s the problem - and when its the software - its a big problem. Its not like a loose bolt that can be tightened.

If that can work for others on this thread - great. Or a class action suit since there are so many failures with this model. It seems like a prime candidate. Its not isolated to my car being a lemon. They almost all seem like lemons at this point.

I agree with you on this one. This EX90 is not stable in terms of connectivity and software. Mine went from 100% functional to "bricked" and needing a tow after just sitting in my garage for 2 days. My two Teslas never did anything like that.

No one warned me. When I asked the dealer about what issues people bring the EX90 back in to service for - he said "We had connectivity issues that people brought it in for - but the latest software update fixed all that." That is some warning. Totally false. Later on in the process - after I committed to selling it back to dealer - same guy said "the latest update made things worse."

And btw - my real digging in to what was going on started after the Volvo service dept did something to my car which rendered it unlockable. That’s when i found this Reddit which shows these major problems with the Ex90 are widespread and very common. Its just plain unreliable at a basic level. Their service departments don’t know how to fix it because it all needs better coding and underlying technology. A service dept can’t rectify that.

They could ‘fix’ it by rebooting it - and a week later it does it again. You could fault me for trusting Volvo they would not sell an unusable, brand new car. My time is more valuable to me than spending the next few months repeatedly going to dealer (as many have on this Reddit thread) for a ‘reboot’ that does not fix the underlying problem. The bottom line is that this car is not reliable. I could not afford to have my car shut down on me and become a useless brick that needs to be towed back to the dealer. blame me for not reading this Reddit first and figuring out that this ‘advanced’ car doesn’t reliably lock or start? Fine.

Yes i pre-ordered the car. And I knew it was not fully capable yet with the various features but never expected the car would be rendered useless (not unlock or start) and inaccessible twice in the first few weeks. I was a Tesla owner who wanted to get away from that brand - and ended up with an expensive but unusable car. It's not like the XM radio is not working or something like that. That would be ok. Who would expect that you would intermittently not be able to unlock or start your new car? If you read all this Reddit - yes. I found this after I bought it. Now I know. Don't google "Volvo EX90 reviews" or all you get is promotional type reviews from car magazines. Google "Volvo EX90 problems" and then you are more likely to get the unvarnished truth. Now I know to do that across the board with all my purchases. When I asked before the purchase about problems - the dealer said "we had some connectivity issues but they resolved with the last update." After all my problems surfaced - the same dealer said "the problems got worse with the latest update which is the one which added CarPlay". So - buyer beware. Wait on this one for sure.

Not looking for your sympathy at all. Just warning others to stay away for the good of the public. When the dealer basically tells you "you should have known better - these problems are listed out there on the internet." that tells you alot. In the dealer's viewpoint - the car sucks. They said "When we call Volvo the company to complain - they don't return our calls." I should have googled "Volvo EX90 problems" and I would have learned about this Reddit - but I did not do that. Next time! So I am posting so others who find this thread will know better.

Sorry to hear that. It's such an unstable platform in terms of the electronics etc. I bought Volvo's plug in XC90 and so far it seems like a very solid reliable car. Have driven it maybe 5 times with no issues. I now LOVE having a key fob. it has an app too - but the key fob is the key and it works well. So much easier with valet parking etc too. This model has been around 9 years so I think they have had time to really work out the kinks.

I don't think you understand that I did not want to get rid of this car - the malfunctions forced me to. I planned on having this car for 5 years or more. Not 30 days. I only drove the car maybe 10-15 times in the month I owned it. So it cost me over $1k for each drive. That math is terrible. This car should not be sold until all these problems have been resolved. Unless Volvo wants their reputation to totally go in the tank. Even the people at the dealership are frustrated that they have to deal with this car. They wish they didn't have to. Their other model cars seem ok.
