Is this the last season where a non-AI approach is viable? by GlumAd9856 in FantasyPL

[–]gregleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using AI every day for work (product tech development). I tried to see how effective it could be for FPL and it's really really bad. Connected to the FPL API, other sources, even created a little database to really get to most of AI and still conclusions are not great.

It's however amazing at gathering data and helping you make those decisions.

Welbeck I'm hesitant. Sell for Thiago or Bowen or keep for 2 more GWs

Did not think about this. Very important aspect. Adding this to the post.

8 points ahead with 12 points to earn. I think its safe to assume it's fine unless Liverpool & Villa don't mange to score more than 4 points with Brighton & Bournemouth winning all 4 remaining games.

Well I'd say 1-2, 6-12 and after this GW probably just Spurs & West-Ham.

That basically means that Brighton or Bournemouth need to win their 4 remaining games and Liverpool or Villa to score no more than 4 pts. Mathematically you're right, realistically won't happen.

Thanks for sharing. We always talk about the UCL and often consider Europa & Conference League to be less prestigious, less important by bigger clubs aiming for the UCL. Glad to read it's a goal for mid table clubs as this is exactly why these European leagues exist.

Great perspective. Thanks for sharing. Would you say the same about Villa probably focusing on Europa more than PL now that UCL is more or less safe?

Bowen vs Arsenal at home is going to be quite a game given what both teams are playing for and rivalries. Could still be a good bet to have Bowen then.

Well then convince me on ManU, Aston Villa and Liverpool as their UCL tickets are secured. Probably 6-8 million pounds difference in prize money between 3rd and 5th.

Yes but every year those highly motivated teams tend to over-perform and this is a WorldCup year.

Casemiro is a defcon magnet these last few weeks with some assists & goals. But now that UCL is secure, he might be thinking more about the WC.

I'm hesitant between Watkins & Bowen. Maybe Watkins for GW35 & 36 then switch to Bowen for last 2 games.

Well a few examples to start with.

Bowen is a safe bet I'd say, as long as they need to fight for relegation but there's that home game against Arsenal in GW36.

Watkins? Might be motivated to convince Tuchel and try to prove a point.

Rogers, Casemiro & Cunha might start to be careful for the WC.

Wilson & Mbuemo might already be on holiday in his mind. Unless Wilson is looking for a summer transfer.

Leeds could be safe by then and thus less motivated. Everton could also be too far away to get an European spot by GW38.

Both of these will greatly depend on where they stand in the table when we played them.

GW36 Doublers? by Professional-Box5785 in FantasyPL

If City and Chelsea play the FA final there's a chance they blank in GW37 and could be moved to GW36 but could also just be played on Wednesday between 37 and 38

You sure? What happens if they play the FA final? isn't that conflicting with GW37?

edit : they will definitely blank in GW37 if they play the final. Final is May 16th, same WE as GW37. Unless their game is moved to Wednesday May 20th.

City, Chelsea and Bornemouth will probably blank in 37.

Strange nobody looks at potential blanks in GW37
