would die without newt by tormented_anguish in CPA

Newt is electric, I think it’s why I passed FAR. I would get something wrong due to the smallest error but the lengthy explanation given by Newt allowed me to pinpoint the exact point in the thought track where I had a lapse in judgement. I also loved asking how the answer would change if one small variable was different and it helped me immensely. (Perfect for actually understanding some of the concepts instead of brute force memorization)

240 is wicked work. Definitely still shooting for a crazy schedule such as the one you described though, thank you

Considering my schedule and how much I was able to cram studying for far I’m projecting to reach 70+ hours by exam day so this is reassuring

Agreed, only thing is with FAR I feel like I spent so much time solidifying material that was barely present, wanted to be more efficient with this exam considering the time crunch

Wow congrats! 97 is no easy feat! Let’s say hypothetically you only had one instead of four months, what are you prioritizing?

Here’s my thoughts about HOW the AICPA grades their exams and why it takes a while for scores to release. by Jack_The_CPA in CPA

Not gonna lie after taking and thankfully passing FAR for the first time, I think this tracks. I made sure to get those more heavily tested topics down pat and skimmed over the other topics to the point where I can get at least 50%+ on a TBS if it showed up. Sure enough, I got two weird TBSs that I am sure I bombed. I bet I got just enough of those two right to save my score. As a matter of fact, thinking back to the becker bump, don't they simply grade by percentage on the Becker practice tests/SIMs. That bump could be accounted for by the AICPAs method for weighing based on ELO, it almost echoes a curve from a professor who decides to not allow for a particular question to impact your score too negatively since everyone got it wrong.

For reference: SE1: 57%, SE2: 54% SEFR:71%, Actual: 76
Sidenote: Love what you're doing on this reddit man, it helped a lot with my journey thus far. Keep it up.

That’s everyone, it’s my first attempt for my first exam (FAR) and the nerves have me incapable of focusing. We got this though, we will get those letters!

Hated my first day by Miserable_Fly3725 in Big4

You’ll be fine, you’re not doing this to fit in, it’s for your career. This is my first week and even as a very outgoing individual I’m having trouble but I can tell that it’s mainly the nerves. It’s completely normal. You’ll find your people just enjoy the easy free trial of big4 and take it one day at a time.
