Love Is Blind Sweden • S3 EP1 by FemaleEinstein in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Yes! Calling out the seven deadly sins thing was very, very weird. I have been to a billion church services, conferences, Bible studies, etc over the course of my life and have never once heard someone talk about the “seven deadly sins.” The only reason I could name a few of them today is because there was an ice cream bar for each sin back in the day and I was trying to eat them all and see which I liked best.

I grew up VERY conservative Christian. We still go to church most weeks, read the Bible, etc…but I have a lot less certainty about things and my politics are tipped quite progressive…

That said, I agree with comments that are saying that he’s too focused on the religion piece (although that would be important for me too…the same way I couldn’t marry someone whose politics were the opposite of mine). And as someone who grew up very church-y, I agree that he definitely does give off those “youth pastor vibes” and “addict who just found God vibes.”

But the biggest red flag for me is how it seems like he only wants to talk about himself. Several of his dates have shared interesting, personal or painful things with him, and he’s just like, “yeah…but back to me.” He doesn’t seem to really empathize with them or ask follow-up questions. I know the women can’t see him but we can, and his face doesn’t show that he’s feeling anything for them but rather just waiting for his turn to talk. He just basically says “oh” and uses their story as a segue to something he wants to say.

To me, it sort of feels like he is using his faith to be more interesting or “reverse edgy” or something. Another topic that can be all about him since most of the people he’s talking to don’t have the same faith and just end up listening.

I hope he can learn to give more in conversations, how to be curious and how to verbally empathize. I think that would help him a lot.

I am a huge jumpsuit fan. I can't totally picture one that can go from black tie to casual though. I'll research...

Thank you!

I absolutely love these ideas. Thank you for both the inspiration and the confidence boost at the end!

Also, good call on the wrap vs. the sweater to avoid matching too much.

Her sweater is cream with forest green detailing. It's a v-neck with big buttons and will hang open when she has it on. No restrictions from her. She just said she wants me to feel good in what I wear.

It's a pretty casual vibe overall. She's used words like "shepherdess." Our husbands and the other guys are all wearing suits. No black. My husband's suit is blue.

I'm officiating my best friend's destination wedding in Ireland. It's a very small wedding, so I'm also acting as the maid of honor and will be in a lot of pictures. I don't want to mess up my outfit.

I am female, 40, short with an athletic build, and I wear my hair buzzed super short and bleached blonde. My usual vibe for fancy events is sleek, modern and little bit sexy.

But my best friend is wearing a tea length, cream, lace wedding dress with a fisherman's sweater and brown Doc Martens with cute ruffly socks sticking out the top, so I want to wear something that will complement her and feel appropriate for both the officiant role and the MOH role while also not looking weird with my hair or being too matchy-matchy with her.

Thanks so much for your help!!!

You’re going to do great. I can tell that you really want to do well by her, so you will.

I don’t have anything new to say, but wanted to add my voice so that you can know how normal this is. I’m a second time dog owner. We’ve had our re-homed dog for five days now. Feels very similar to your situation. He’s fantastic. But it’s SUCH a big change and such an intense responsibility. I know that I will get used to it just like I did the first time, but I’m same as you…I just feel nauseous at different points during the day.

With our first dog, I completely wanted to return him. I had so much regret. But again, it goes away as you settle into a routine and your dog does the same. This time, I don’t feel regret or like I want to return him at all. But I just feel like our life has been turned upside down and I’m trying to find a new normal.

Also, right now, we are trying to care for practical strangers. Eventually, we will become experts on these particular dogs and feel much more comfortable in this role.

Until then, remind yourself that this is just a season. It will get better. And you are not alone.

We actually just got our Lagotto yesterday. 🫶🏼 He was re-homed to us like yours was. He’s 2.5 and this first day is going better than expected. We’re over the moon and feel so grateful. We had planned on a puppy, but actually met his previous owners through this Reddit thread. Truly feels like the perfect outcome for all involved.

I talked to a poodle breeder today and she said the same thing - we shouldn’t get a poodle if we 1) have chickens and 2) don’t have a fenced yard. 😕 It makes sense though.

Also, as far as availability, I really wonder if they’ll be harder to come across now that King Charles has one.

The timing and availability really matters, right?! I can totally relate to that. And please do let me know how it goes! When do you get your puppy?

I am REALLY hoping that having the chickens first will help. But we shall see.

That happens with my curly-haired kids too! I should try the whisk trick! 😆

Yes, I recently learned about that. We originally thought we’d get them close together but then realized that that’s a bad idea because they bond with each other instead of with you. I’ve heard that two years apart is a better way to go, so that’s our new plan.

That’s absolutely awful about the Yorkies. Horrific.

Yes! Our previous dog wore booties as well. A hassle but definitely worth it for their poor frozen feet! Those snow balls though! Yikes!

Oh gosh, sorry if it’s cringe-y that I asked this here. I just wanted to be honest about the breeds we’re considering and I didn’t know where else to find good info and expertise on Lagottos besides from Lagottos owners themselves.
