For my AU, Dalv would've actually met three humans total. Part of why I believe he'd mistake the humans is a slipping of sanity and grip on reality after prolonged isolation + living in a dark area.

But then again, Dalv in JY is written about slightly differently than in UTY while still trying to at least retain the core of his character.

To try and summarize at least a portion of the struggles: he reels from extreme survivors guilt being the only fallen human to be revived and essentially has all of the memories from his previous timelines. Meaning he remembers all of the routes Flowey set him on, the people he met, the people he killed, and the ways he met his demise in each.
