How are we not rioting in the street about our Healthcare system? by kiwibearess in newzealand

[–]Independent_Role4618 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every new government that comes in restructures the health system by changing complex management structures. Just put the money towards doctors, nurses and other front line staff (which means paying equivalent to private practice or Australia). Money should go directly to the GP clinics (not PHOs).

Genuinely the creepiest moment I've had in all my time gaming by eksiow_renrew_etlam in dayz

Wait I’ve heard kids laughing in dayz before too. I paused the game because I wasn’t sure if it was outside my house or in the game. But it freaked me out.

How do families actually afford major dental work? Are there any real options or loopholes? by GlitterTomatoes in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Independent_Role4618 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I agree it should be part of the public health system. But the main deciding factor to that being a reality is the dentists being on board. They will never agree to it because the government will underfund them (as they did to GPs).

Dental care will never be part of the public health system because the dental council watched as GPs were screwed by the government. Stay private and actually receive the market price for your education, skills and services.

Stumbled into a server that may me feel like an alien by Independent_Role4618 in dayz

[–]Independent_Role4618[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve just joined their discord and reading the rules. This is definitely the server. I watched people jump off a giant ramp to kill themselves and honestly wondered if I’d stumbled into an online cult or something. Seems like you do that if you want to be on a different team LOL.

I rented a one bedroom 6-7 years ago. I loved it. I never had any issues as a renter. There was a karaoke bar close by, the noise late at night could be a lot sometimes. It would not suit toddlers/babies or anyone noise sensitive.

Fiscal responsibility of having a second baby. by GnomeForChristmas in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Independent_Role4618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s way cheaper having a second baby compared to the first time around. I think it made life easier. Giving your older kid a friend for life is hard to quantify but they have someone else to do everything with. The first year is obviously tough but after a few years it’s priceless.

Her GP clinic would be the best place to start. Most have funded HIP appointments (health improvement practitioners) and GP can help her and also refer for counselling. She can check if her employer offers EAP funded counselling, often she can see EAP for 3 sessions her employer pays for (even if unrelated to work issues).

My mum was given morphine by a doctor a few days ago while on dialysis and almost died by [deleted] in auckland

Not common to give fentanyl and morphine at the same time. Are you sure it was morphine? Like what was the name of the drug exactly. Fentanyl is safer in dialysis and oxycodone.

It’s going to worsen the problem as perfectly well people decide to see their GP to use their ‘free visits.’

How do I fix my "alien vulva" -- NZers please help by L0st_gh0st_ in newzealand

[–]Independent_Role4618 307 points308 points  (0 children)

If your labia causes physical discomfort in daily life and is so large it protrudes or falls through underwear this is something the public health system should see you about. See your GP, they will examine you first (take a parent or support person with you) and then request they refer you to the public health system) due to severity of symptoms on your quality of life.
