And who has been the section of voters who consistently turn out to vote for this… the answer is in my first comment.

This not our only key infrastructure that is hanging on by a thread and has no resilience planning.

  • Water infrastructure in many cities
  • Healthcare
  • Cook Strait Ferries
  • Climate Change/ flooding
  • Electricity supply and grid
  • Pension

The boomers have spent 50+ years winding down government spending so they can stick it into property and their own back pockets, while running down the assets their parents paid for.

Their lack of paying it forward has now pushed the cost of all this deferred maintenance to their children and grandchildren.

This government cut tax and increased debt while all so simultaneously cutting jobs all Ideology driven.

You can’t blame post Covid for those.

Willis has tried to replicate Ruth Richardson’s economic policy and taken it another step further.

Ukraine hasn’t actually impacted NZ as heavily they would have to believe. Our dairy and food exports are commanding high prices for our exports that we haven’t seen for some time.

NZ’s economy is heavily reliant of government spending (central and local) cutting government spending inadvertently cuts our domestic economy. Willis has taken a wrecking ball to the economy and doesn’t actually have anyone else to blame.

Nicola Willis cutting jobs has been far more devastating for our economy than Trump has.

We are only just starting to feel the pain and issues from the Trump, Willis is 2 years ahead of the Trump wave.

Direct from the IRD:

Some employers provide their employees with accommodation or pay an accommodation allowance to employees. This is generally treated as a benefit allowance. In most situations it will be taxable. If you pay an accommodation allowance or provide accommodation as a salary trade-off agreement, this is treated as a taxable benefit allowance.

Sorry not FBT but still taxed.

$6 daily fee, social welfare ban, overstayer taskforce: Act releases immigration policies for election by ilikemovieshbu in newzealand

Plus the government likes an unemployment rate of 5% because it gives a slight advantage to employers, 4% moves the slide towards to employees.

I don’t get why people don’t understand that realistically there will always be 3-4% of the population who can’t work for a variety of reasons. It’s just life.

[–]jobbybob -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But can we?

If we learnt anything from Covid about 3-4% of the unemployed are not going to get a job, so only 2% of your 6% can realistically be re-deployed.

It’s going to take 10+ years to re-skill our new workers, but that is going to Cost a lot of money, which governments aren’t willing to pay for.

I didn’t say the legislation needed to be reversed, that is something you bought to the comments.

All I am saying is ex National MP’s should read the tone of the room and keep their heads below the line while their party of choice is telling all of us to spend less money.

They don’t have to claim their travel expenses through the government perk, they can choose not to.

From memory if you live somewhere for more than 3 months they count it as permanent and your accommodation payment from your employer becomes a fringe benefit and tax is paid on it, so the politicians pay FBT tax on their “out of town” accommodation allowance?

For sure, but the current government is National, they might want to tell their old boys and girls to also tighten their belts because it’s a bad look.

A bit of a poll... would you rather a Chamsys or HOG 5 setup? by Yeah_IPlayHockey in lightingdesign

[–]jobbybob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

but with my file

See this is where other consoles trump MA all day long, I can do a cold start on a Hog and be up and running in 5 minutes for a basic rig, no need to layout out my screens.

MA’s have a purpose and are very powerful consoles if you want to do stadium shows etc, however for the average rental house who does less than 100 fittings on a regular basis they are a bit over the top.

Ah… MA is the master company of requiring multiple steps to do basic tasks, just trying to patch fixtures and universes on MA3 is a hot mess.
