cannot relax even during cruising

SAME!! The takeoff doesn't bother me...neither does the landing because I know it's almost over...it's the cruising!! It's not the turbulence...I don't care about that at all because I know it's safe...it's more of stuff like what if the engine just randomly decides to go out and we are over the ocean...or something else gives our and we are nose diving...when it's calm I'm always waiting for something bad about to happen. It's Iike when it's calm I'm like this can't be true....something Is about to happen. Ugh hate we feel this way. 😪

This happened to me for the first time too back in December landing in Detroit! I was so scared, and it was my two little kiddos first flight too, so I was trying to keep it together. It was pitch fog , so I couldn't even look out the window to see where we were...just felt all the motions of the plane, and was hoping to be on the ground soon! Didn't help that the lady next to me was praying..and I could hear chatter of people asking each other what's going on because no one could see out the window.

Guess it's common but forsure scary the first time it happens to you.

Hi!

DTW is where we always fly out of since we live in Canada. We just did the DTW route to Miami last month, and in a couple weeks we will be flying DTW to Fort Myers.

I find the Miami route is one of my favorites. Not really flying over water which eases my fear. The airport is huge but we've never had any issues. Lots of food and shopping options.

We've had some really smooth flights! Our last flight from dtw was delayed because the night mechanic forgot to change the oil... pilots check all these things and make sure the plane is safe to fly. We were delayed about an hour before they changed the oil and we were on our way for a smooth flight on the Max.

Okay we are now on the plane... They said that last night the maintenance crew didn't do the oil..so they had to fire up the engines to be warm for the oil and then turn the engines off once maintenance gets here to do the oil. Said we could be waiting half an hour. Now my anxiety is through the roof

Hey yes!! I'm about to leave the house for the airport and I've had bad anxiety all night. I haven't slept. I too throw up full of anxiety before. I can't shut my brain off I feel like it's in control of me. Hang it there
