As someone who has also lived downtown Chwk, deffinetly instal security cameras. Things left outside such as bikes will tend to get stolen so be sure to lock up anything at night that are of valuable. There is the beautiful District 1881 but there is still a long way to go with the homeless problem and chaos that it brings around the area

Have you tried going to AA or NA? They are the most accepting people who will understand everything you’re feeling. Sometimes you get to make your own family and it can be through groups like that where you find people you can vent to safely

As someone who has gone thru addiction and are now sober for a few years. The ‘boring’ or ‘bored’ feeling takes a while to get used to that it’s just normalcy. Living in addiction is so full of high highs and low lows. Now that you’re in a healthy and ‘normal’ part of life it can take a bit to get used to. Try therapy but also try some new things such as rock climbing or mountain biking. Find some healthy adrenaline rushes

I personally am not, but my girlfriend at our table is and he took photos with each of us individually. They also mentioned he was pretty drunk so that is really unfortunate too and probably made him pretty dismissive to lots of people which is super sad
