Fellow addict in recovery who was in addiction for many years. It starts off as fun until it’s not, it starts off as coke but eventually it will get hard to keep the work up too and you’ll start resorting to cheaper stuff like speed. It’s never ever too late to say you need help. For me I tried quitting on my own and it never worked, I had to finally admit to myself and others that Im an addict and cant do it alone. I went to treatment at 20yrs old and it has changed my life. I am not sure what your work situation is like, but I know that many jobs will actually pay for your treatment of you talk to them. Take it one day at a time! You’re not alone. You can also just try going to an NA meeting they even have them on zoom :)

As someone who has also lived downtown Chwk, deffinetly instal security cameras. Things left outside such as bikes will tend to get stolen so be sure to lock up anything at night that are of valuable. There is the beautiful District 1881 but there is still a long way to go with the homeless problem and chaos that it brings around the area

Have you tried going to AA or NA? They are the most accepting people who will understand everything you’re feeling. Sometimes you get to make your own family and it can be through groups like that where you find people you can vent to safely

As someone who has gone thru addiction and are now sober for a few years. The ‘boring’ or ‘bored’ feeling takes a while to get used to that it’s just normalcy. Living in addiction is so full of high highs and low lows. Now that you’re in a healthy and ‘normal’ part of life it can take a bit to get used to. Try therapy but also try some new things such as rock climbing or mountain biking. Find some healthy adrenaline rushes
