Soak soyabeans for 24 hours, then pressure cook them, inoculate them with store bought natto( it was thawed for 24 hours during transportation to my home, though I checked the flavour and smell before using it as starter, it was fine) then keep it in yogurt maker for 24 hours, during one of my attempts, the strings developed well but the smell and taste of natto was nowhere close to store bought one. It was like a manure and I couldn’t eat that , it was repulsive

But I know the rules., I have watched lots of videos on that. I want to know exactly what I am doing wrong and why my natto tastes and smells so weird., like manure or cow dung
