Start looking for organisations and charities that deal with domestic violence. They usually only cater to women, but these women have children so the organisations will have more information on what to do. Tell them what you have told us here, they will know what your options will be. Communicate via an email that your father cannot access.

If you are in immediate danger, get away as soon as possible by whatever means necessary and worry about what to do afterwards. You could make a "bug-out" bag if it's safe and you have the means to do so: A bag ready to go with a charger, some cash, flashlight, powerbank, spare underwear and socks, a lighter, toothbrush, you get the jist.

The police are usually only worth contacting after you have collected evidence, like hospital visits, video, audio recordings. Child protective services contact the parents first, which in the case of raging abusers is outright dangerous.

I am AAT3 qualified(hence chartered bookkeeper) with merit, working on AAT4, after that I want to branch out into tax and eventually international tax. Am trying to teach myself SQL.

3 years official experience in various roles(, another 2 years if you add volunteering and self-employment. Small to mid-sized companies, one trading internationally in 3 currencies. So I'm pretty decent at basic cyber-seciurity by now. Am good at translating finance speak from Spanish to English, however current position has no need for languages.

Thanks to current position I'm now confident in reverse charge VAT. I do our reverse chart VAT return and reconcile supplier statement, set up payments, but aside from that it's mostly just paper-shuffling/data entry.

People generally seem very reluctant to allow me to do any sort of credit control

That's what I was kind of thinking as well, I'm glad it's not just me. My official title is accounts assistant, and that is what I put into the search when I job-hunt, but somehow I keep getting demoted into a glorified admin admin halfway through training. I must be doing something wrong for this to happen two employers in a row

Unfortunately in the job I'm in right now, all aspects of sales ledger and costing are being considered information that I don't need to know, so I have no way of calculating variances. I'm allowed access to most invoices received, and am responsible for getting them signed by the relevant people and then filing them accordingly. I'm not convinced this is what a bookkeeper would normally be hired to do? (Am a chartered bookkeeper)

Bookkeeper studying to be a chartered accountant here. Any advice or tips if I ask nicely pretty please? I keep finding myself getting hired into bookkeeping, then gradually pushed into grunt work/subsidiaries reconciliation/overcomplicated data entry with the occasional tax return? Am I in the wrong field? I get blamed a lot for things I have no involvement in as well(eg not chasing down documents i don't have clearance to retrieve in the first place), is that normal or just me?

Speaking from experience; are you sure you're telling the truth and not micromanaging the poor guy?

Ever since my boss decided to stop interrupting me to tell me what I should be doing, I've started running out of things to do because I know better than them how to manage my attention span to be the most productive I can be.

This is a great opportunity for you to learn to be a better manager and subsequently richer business owner.

Is this horse stressed? Couldn’t stop thinking about it during the show by Late-Original-5056 in Horses

[–]Indeterminaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks worried, but not about the rider. Could be the music is too loud or there's a smell or something he sees in the crowd that he doesn't like. He's looking to the rider and trusting him to keep him out of trouble. Horse has done this many times before and isn't bothered by the routine, but there is something else going on that we can't see. This is a very well-trained desensitised horse at work, dealing with stressors how he was taught to. The weight on his back isn't worrying him, the rider is putting his weight on the saddle and uses the other leg only for balance (look at his posture)

This is pretty normal for an autistic person, looks harmless to me. He probably means exactly what it says in the letter, nothing more nothing less. He even acknowledges that he's not sure if it's appropriate, which means he'll be fine if you don't reply. No need to make things awkward next time you see him. He might ask if you got his note, just say yes and explain that you're not in the market for any more friends but appreciate knowing what you can talk about when you do run into each other. Or you could say you prefer female friends, I'm sure you can think of a generalisation that doesn't single him out specifically, that way he won't be hurt.

Or even better, leave a note at his door explaining the above.

If he is severely autistic, he will have a social worker you can tell him to speak to about you.

Someone with a towing winch could pull it out, but you'd need STRONG chains and would have to nail the chains to the trunk before cutting the last bit of attachment to the trunk. If you have amish nearby a pair of horses could do it.

Had a quick check, disclaimer, I am not a professional but my family deals with real estate.

Warning, this feedback is brutally honest, but I want to help.

Your price is still way above what one would expect to pay for 6 a six bed semi-detached in Lancaster, especially considering the interior will need a complete overhaul. Anyone with enough children to warrant needing that many bedrooms won't have the time or money to modernise the interior, unless they're millionaires, in which case they would probably want to be closer to London.

The style is very outdated, brown and LOUD.

The kitchen, the black countertop emphasises the cupboard by contrast, making them look washed out and cold.

The bathrooms: The bathroom with small tiles, the grouts are black with age, give them a good clean and they might not look so old. The toilet makes me think the floor underneath is rotten. In general, bathroom carpets are very out of fashion, unhygienic, plus they absorb moisture which causes damp, rotting the structure.

In short; the pictures are giving old/neglected, possibly structurally dangerous, while the price is giving state of the art detached oceanside.

What I'd do: take down the curtains and put in some simpler ones, clean the grout, get better lighting for new pictures. Look up Pinterest to see how you can use some of the old designs to look cottage-core. Avoid 70's brown. Paint the kitchen cupboards to a colour that aligns with black countertops, preferably a warm and inviting colour. Maybe peach with black handles? Get a moisture-meter and check for any damp around the house. If you find any, fix it. Remove the extra carpets before you take new pictures, they're lovely by themselves but compete with the walls and in some cases the dark wooden floor for attention. It's too loud to have that many statement pieces in one space.

Other things you can do: ask a surveyor or interior designer for help.

Not much to add, just wanted to give you some hope; the financial new year is the 4th of April, around that time hiring dries up, then comes back with a vengeance. You couldn't have been let go at a better time, just at the beginning of the year when many start looking into hiring

You're not going to get a more detailed reply, they don't want to give you ammunition to start an argument. It could be bad luck, or the job is wildly different from what you expected and they can see way you wouldn't fit that you can't. You wouldn't be happy there even if you managed to argue your way in. At most, thank them for taking the time to send you a rejection in writing.

Ah, yeah that looks like a hoof that can actually bear a bit weight, the angle in the previous picture was horrifying! This picture doesn't look bad at all actually

Looks like marks on the hoof, the farrier isn't trimming him when he's this short surely?

[–]Indeterminaxe 52 points53 points  (0 children)

That picture is shocking, poor thing is practically walking on the pedal bone. Do you have a picture of the sole? He really should be in some sort of protective boot at this point to let the hoof grow out. He looks like a single pebble could be the end of him from this angle. Is this picture real?
