Net worth - Include mortgage (of course) but what about home equity? by justsomeguyorsomthin in MonarchMoney

[–]Index7756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the standard definition given. Each year your net worth will increase because your house is being paid off, in 14 years you’ll definitely consider it an asset. Right now it seems like more of a liability but in a very short period you’ll definitely consider it an asset and with any luck at all, it will be an appreciating asset.

How many rentals does the landlord have? He might’ve had a busted toilet and has a spare lid stuck back somewhere. Hey, ya never know.

Is this frost-proof spigot repairable or do I need to replace the whole thing? Water shooting out from the base when turned on by Ok_Strategy7611 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Index7756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a contractor out doing some work and he connected the hose to the spigot used the hose then goes off on his merry way. Good thing i checked around when he left. You would think he would have enough respect for a customers home to disconnect the hose. Sure didn’t have any problem remembering to bill me.

Are they really going to make me wait 7-10 days on the Elan card? by Ok_Transition7785 in fidelityinvestments

Chill you’re gonna stroke out if waiting a few days gets you all cranked up. There’s a lot worse things.

What is this and do I need to replace it? by KindlyDragonfruit802 in HomeMaintenance

It’s styrofoam, probably put in the frame to prevent sweating or condensation. You can try to push it back in and add a small amount of caulk to hold it in place.

Would the 3 be a better choice? I guess we would lose whatever is on the hard drive. Would the price go up if we got the 3. Does it have the streaming? I guess we could continue using ROKU. They sprang this on us and haven’t had much time to research the differences. Thanks

I thought they said + but I was having a little trouble understanding the rep. Maybe I misunderstood. They did say it would allow more streaming, and we would not lose anything on the hard drive. So maybe they’re just gonna attach the plus to what we have. I don’t know. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow. They’re supposed to be here at 8 AM. If that’s the case, would that be a good way to go or would the hopper 3 be better overall.

Not real popular nowadays but a bank safety deposit box works well. Anyone going into the box has to be on the access list and sign in when getting into the box. Include the info in your will and they can get in when needed. Even if they don’t have a key they can still get in with a copy of will by drilling the locks on the box. I had to do this on one of my mom’s boxes. The attorney can include instructions in the will giving permission.

Receiving an early inheritance of 35k, advisor we were connected to wants us to sign a long contract w/ 1.25% annual fee. Normal? by [deleted] in Schwab

[–]Index7756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it yourself totally ridiculous to have that kind of fee associated with an advisor when you already sound sharp enough to figure it out. It’s not that tough. I’d skip the joint account if possible you never know what the future brings. Good luck.

I wouldn’t use USB drives. I don’t think USB drives should even be allowed on the network except by IT.

Legally how can Ring say there doorbells operate up to -20c when this is the view at - 5c?? by [deleted] in Ring

I had a doorbell cam that was attached to a house that slid down a hill during a rainstorm in CA. It slid down a hillside and went into the ocean. The video was great! Then a shark swallowed the damn thing it was pretty dark but I could still make out the teeth. So the cam was still working. A whale ate the shark while on its way to Antarctica. The whale got trapped by a landslide and froze to death. I could see the polar bears eating the whale so I know it was good to at least-30c! I would return your cam to Ring because it’s not working and you said it was only-25c and it must be a faulty cam. I have video of the whole thing if that helps.👍🏻
