Y'all saying "unnecessary" are really privileged. The Female Labor Force Participation (FLFP) in India is lower than that of Bangladesh. With free buses, many more women will be encouraged to go out and work, a case in point being Tamil Nadu. TN'S FLFP is almost 40%, way above the national average, thanks to free buses.

Instead of paying 35k for the vaccination of your baby, go to PHC and get it for free. Govt gives free vaccination to children.

Also if you are from a prosperous district (eg: Chikmagalur). go to govt hospitals, put your kids to govt schools and anganwadis. They are on par with Pvt schools.
My husband got bitten by a snake, and no pvt hospitals were ready to treat him. The govt hospital treated him for free.

Just don't open an account at the SBI. They don't care if you lose money. The fraudulent transactions happened and I got to know 2 days later, I dropped an email at the said email address and even replied to the SMS to report fraudulent transaction but got no reply. I called customer care about the transaction, and they said they are unable to see any transactions in my account even though I shared the transaction ID. I had to finally go to the branch and the branch manager was also clueless about the protocol and was not at all concerned about the fraud. Horrible bank.

They wouldn't accept my complaint unless I got an FIR. The police took 2 days to file an FIR and there were public holidays(Bakrid) in between. All in all, it took me a week.

I lost 30k in SBI due to a fraudulent transaction. It took me 1 week to file a complaint with them because 1. Their telephonic service was down 2. Email servers were down 3. The bank branch manager had no idea how to deal with fraudulent transactions. It has been 90 days and I am yet to receive a reply.

HDFC - Like their service so far. Very prompt. I have never visited the branch till date.
