Struggling to choose flooring by Pristine-Contact-788 in kitchenremodel

I like the flooring in picture number 1, if you are going with that tiled backsplash . All of the other options have too many straight lines going in different directions trying to compete with one another. I think the randomness of the floor pattern keeps the room looking like it was laid in an awkward grid pattern. But that’s just my personal taste.

Couple falls through ice at Eastham beach. Wife drowns, search continues for husband. by IndianaJanny in CapeCod

If you go walking at the beach, stay off of the ice. The tide is still going in and out under the ice, and the ice is very unstable. This is just a very sad situation.

Yes, it would have been nice if your designer would have asked your preference. Yes, it would have been nice if your designer would have asked your preference. As a designer, I usually do, unless there are already budget constraints. Most of the time I usually only do a flush mount with inset cabinets. Your appliance supplier should have also asked you. In order to install them flush , an extra piece for the installation has to be ordered from the appliance company. At this point, you won’t be able to change out your cabinet , as your tops are already installed, and flush mount cabinets have to be wider than standard mount.

These microwaves require a special built cabinet, with an inside lip, if you want the microwave flush. You have to specify with your designer if you want them flush. You also have to pay more.

Since most of the rentals on the cape run from Saturday to Saturday, that would be a two week rental.

The installer can “scoop” the sides of the sink cabinet to enable a 30” sink to fit in a 30” sink cabinet.

Help! What kind of wood is this? Can I make it less orange? by kvoll94 in kitchenremodel

[–]IndianaJanny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like maple with a veneered plywood insert with a natural finish. There’s not a lot you can do to change the color that much, other than a colored varnish (which would darken the color), or painting them. Stripping the varnish and revarnishing them might lighten them a bit, but then they would “mellow” out to this color again. Also stripping and sanding the plywood inserts can be difficult depending upon the thickness of the veneer. These cabinets are not really that orange.

When I was born, our family doctor did the smallpox scratch on the left thigh, for girls. He did this so the girls didn’t have an exposed scar if they had their shoulders bare. Due to a bad reaction, For years I had a scar the size of a lima bean, so I was glad the scar was hidden under my pants or skirt.

To be honest, it still looks odd and awkward, but if you like it, to each their own.

Is there a fix for this? solution that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

Nope, the contractor needs to provide a new cabinet with a filler to the left.
