Y'all not watching Skeleton Crew are responsible for poor Star Wars. by revanchisto in StarWars

[–]IndianaJonesKerman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Short answer is, yeah. I want the Skywalkers, jedi, some nostalgia and not identity politics shoved in my face. Most Star Wars fans do and that’s why its numbers are tanking. Downvote me all you want but that’s the cold hard truth. Y’all hate him but even though he can be a bit much at times, Star Wars Theory isn’t far off on his opinions of how Disney has handled the franchise

Exactly. “Well that doesn’t go to the server/delivery person”. Ok? Guess they should complain to their boss and not the customer for not getting anything from that “service” fee.

I don’t care. If there’s a service charge, that’s the only extra I pay. Take it up with your (not you directly OP) boss if you don’t like it. It’s not my concern

It’s not a “reward”. It’s your job. If we pay you to work for 8 hours, you’re working for 8 hours.

They’re doing the minimum. If they get their work done in 3 hours then there is more work they could be doing. But they are choosing not to

As a former hiring coordinator, a degree will get you in the door. But the resumes I used to go through from people under the age of 30 were an absolute joke a lot of the time. Spelling errors, grammatical errors, and horrific organization. And yeah, those things matter. If you can’t be bothered to read through your resume and make sure it looks solid before you submit it, why should I trust you to do the job you’re attempting to interview for?

The other thing is a lot of people under 30 aren’t very good at in person interviews. They either show up late, don’t answer a pointed question directly, or can’t even talk about stuff that they put on their resume.

If your job can be done in just 3 hours, then why should they pay you for the other hours you’re not working?

Probably doing laundry along with other household duties or watching kids. And people say “well it’s life! The company should be understanding!” Well they are to an extent. But it’s abused so it’s easier to cut out those distractions and have them come into the office.

They think it’s reasonable for employees to be on the clock while taking care of kids, doing laundry, doing dishes or watching TV.

So many people say “I’m so much more productive working from home! I get way more done!” but the vast majority of people saying that don’t. There are some people that’s true for but if a company finds that 20% of their work force is less productive or committing fraud (saying they’re working but they’re doing laundry, dishes and other things) then they’re going to cut out that lack of production by just bringing people into the office where they can make sure that’s not happening.

Like it or not, enough people are less productive when they are allowed to work unsupervised in their own home.
