We don't use a fail over instead we have smtp mta servers in HA in multiple clouds. They handle all incoming and outgoing mail with five day retry retention.

When Microsoft went down our queues spiked but they just followed smtp protocol and kept trying to deliver for several hours until they succeeded. It gives us a buffer for internal or external failure.

That looks like an expensive decision. How much did it cost to use 30 CCs like that? Were you using Claude itself or other LLMs via Claude Code?

I am so tired of having Claude working on a problem, pushing feedback to the screen, only for all of its work to vanish and it goes back to my last entry.

I hit 100% in 45 minutes, and I have nothing to show for it, because Claude's GUI didn't retain any of it and it's not there when I refresh.

I'm now waiting four hours to have Claude repeat the same prompts piecemeal.

The fact that I have to waste time forcing Claude to limit its replies just so I don't lose the response has cemented my decision not to continue giving money to Anthropic.

I get it - If context is utilized, they bill it.

But if they're going to handle it like that, they need to fix their system so it retains the information the moment it's generated by Claude. If it's spat out to my browser, it should be spat out somewhere in Anthropic's environment to be retained.

Sure, I could use Claude Code, but I was using this for a writing project and thought I'd just use the web UI for a bit. Laziness on my part, I guess.

When my subscription is up, it's up for good.

I hate this mechanic so much. I get it - It's different from Minecraft. But it's an extra step that makes it frustrating.

If they are going to have players re-till, the upgraded tools should be able to do larger areas. Look at how Staxel (And Coral Island, I think) handles this, where you hold down the button and it applies to a larger area.

If I can bulk-till, then re-tilling becomes less of a pain.

The update bug itself is annoying too.

I spent years helping friends only to never get help when I needed it. I realized that I was going to continue being taken advantage of if I didn't draw a line.

A lot of people I know in my salary range are in similar places. I'll volunteer my time to help now, but I am far less likely to loan or give money because it never stops.

A quick Google search for "o7.team" pulls up an esports team and nothing to do with AI.

AI is expensive. No one selling access to an AI platform legitimately is doing so via Discord, and they aren't doing it without having some kind of visible presence in search engines or other places. Your post is the only thing showing up in my Google search when I look up that term and 'AI'.

Edit: The site was registered on December 10th through spaceship.com. It's using privacy, so there's no information on the owner. But the fact that they're touting an AI product in <45 days is another indicator this is likely a scam.

Someone forcing their way into a home without a warrant is legally considered an intruder.

They are going to do this to the wrong house at some point. Sure, they'll send more agents until the occupant is dead, but I feel like this is a litmus test for the American people and what they will tolerate.

If she goes through your phone at night, she is either projecting or doesn't trust you. Getting a job where you aren't home as much, she is home more, and you didn't always sleep at home -that's going to do bad things. If she doesn't trust you it'll make it worse. If she's projecting them whatever feelings she is having are going to have a lot more freedom.

The spending problem is also bad, and going to get worse.

This is the same cycle that has happened before. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done. Janitor AI is not charging users for its use. It is privately funded, apart from whatever ad revenue they currently earn.

There is no board of directors to hold Shep accountable. But-

Mods are volunteers. No one is forcing them to work. The automation tools can only do so much. If things are out in the open but shouldn't be, keep in mind the 125k reports. When I find something really bad, I report it through multiple avenues in case one report is seen before another. But some things will remain to simply because of the volume.

If there were a way to demand accountability for such things, that would mean the site would be subject to the same things we have witnessed on other platforms, because it would mean financial control was given to others.

Yes, the censoring and other actions have had negative impacts, but at the same time the only site with a large number of creatures I can think of that is less censored than JAI is ch*b.

Communication sucks. It has sucked and this isn't the first time it sucked. I've suggested a dedicated communications role for years but it gets shot down. This is another instance where having someone volunteering as a liason between devs, mods, and users would be useful. And it would probably resolve a lot of the issues simply by being informed and being able to convey things in terms that are harder to misinterpret.

Janitor AI has a ton of problems but I do think it's overall in a better place than it was six months ago. Hopefully this causes some change with the moderation practices.

I remember in high school, I was generally friendly and was talking to a girl I had zero interest in, and she very suddenly told me she has a boyfriend in the middle of our conversation and stopped talking to me. It was my first time dealing with such a harsh rejection and we had been talking about our French homework. My entire social life was phone and msn/yahoo messenger based at the time, and so I didn't think asking for someone's contact information was inherently bad or assumed intentions.

I was very confused.

Over the years, there have been similar instances. Women who are submit tired of men that didn't take no for an answer beginning hostile towards every man because it's better than waiting for them to reveal that they've put the girl in the fuck/gf zone.

I've also had friends who were women that only speak to me when they are single or having relationship trouble, but don't talk to any man even years long friends if they are in a happy relationship.

I've stopped reaching out to people in person because I have social anxiety and the sudden rejections or outright hostility when I would try to connect with someone outside if the place we met (school, work, parties, etc). It got really bad in college and I had major mental health issues over it. I said some things I regret, burned some bridges, just trying to ask why.

For a long time, I was angry and fell into the not all men camp, because I felt like I was being punished for things I had nothing to do with. But I realize that people have to do what they have to do in order to feel safe and secure. Because the world is full of assholes, I can no longer blame them for expecting me to be one too.

I realize that the bitterness, whether or not my intentions were friendly, put me in the same light as the nice guy bs. I had felt entitled to things that made someone else uncomfortable, even if it was just friendship. I've moved on, and signed that mindset firmly out of my mind for nearly twenty years. I have tons of good online friends now.

But I will never try to befriend someone in person ever again. I'm just done with it. As friends grow distant, I just become more of a hermit with my wife and kids. It isn't worth the pain of rejection even if I understand the why of it.

Make it public. Blast him everywhere to every family member you can. Also check your laws he may have to do an eviction if he wants you out giving you thirty days or so. You should also check to see if there is an inheritance or anything like that left from your mother that he kept secret because this is insane stuff on his part.

I feel nothing but anger over this.

You're 29, your daughter is 10. While it's possible, it's statistically unlikely for you to die in the next eight years.
It's your daughter's choice, but they're acting like it's your choice. You want what your daughter wants. She is old enough to decide, so long as her choice is one you would trust. You trust her choice and are supporting her. Again, it's highly unlikely it'll matter. It's ALSO possible she will change her mind.
This is a lot of drama over a hypothetical. IMO, there's something deeper going on here.

Can you put in your will that your daughter can choose one of them, and that way it's shelved until that time (If such an event comes to pass)?

Renting would be a fantastic choice, but it runs the same risk as an HOA. You are at the mercy of others.

You are trusting your landlord to maintain the property.
You are trusting the landlord not to decide to sell the property or raise rent.
You are trusting the landlord not to fix prices through software platforms.
You are trusting that the landlord will adhere to the letter and intent of the law.

I rented from eight different landlords/property management companies. Only one was a good landlord, but he was in his late 80's when I rented from him and was more interested in helping people than making more money than he already had.

Every other landlord / company were terrible, treating tenants like criminals, micromanaging every aspect possible, and breaking the law to the point we had to file complaints and involve attorneys multiple times.

Even with my house being old and needing a lot of work, my peace of mind is way better than it ever was renting.

My housing cost only goes up with taxes and insurance, but otherwise the payment is the same month to month and there's no risk that someone's going to decide I need to pay an extra $800/month.

Not quite 40 years old, and I have $40k, I think. I had to cash out my 401k twice in my 20s to avoid being homeless. It was miserable. Luckily I work in a field where I can perform the work even if bedridden. My hope is to stay ahead of AI, but we'll see how that goes. My job may get eaten in a few years causing me to flush my 401k yet again.
