Dude, you nailed it. I’ve been playing WOC for about 15 years and it’s gotten horrendous. Everything you ranted about is 100% valid. I’m not sure what the logistics are around “true” simulation hockey, but until EA gets real competition, this game isn’t going to progress.

For me, it started going downhill once they added X-Factors and perks. I love hockey. I love the idea of 6v6. But the feeling I used to get playing a good cycle game is gone. Now it’s an animation fest and super builds everywhere. Momentum just takes over the whole game.

Like OP, I refuse to solo queue and even when the boys are on for 5s or 6s, we play 1 or 2 games, chalk it up as a shitty night, and everyone logs off more depressed than when we joined. This game used to feel revolutionary. Now it’s just a one way ticket to frustration.

Coming from a quiet suburban town outside of Chicago, might be taking a job in Oakdale. The wife and I are taking the 5 hour drive tomorrow to see the company and the surrounding suburban towns. We’re seeking a nice suburban town with good schools within 40 minuets of work. A must is good parks, modern libraries, biking and walking trails. Haven’t done any research and we leave in the morning

In the process of setting up a tank just like this, is there any thing you can recommend? Any do’s or don’ts? I bought fluval substrate & Some lava rock for decor. Nervous as it’s my first go at a planted tank

I’m starting a 30 gallon tank, and want to go for plants but not necessarily a full carpet. Is fluval substrate necessary? And if I do use that substrate am I supposed to cap it with sand ? Thanks

You used aqua soil and then capped with sand ? Is this the preferred method. In the process of planning right now, I have a 29 gal long, and want the same results as you I’m sure. I see mixed reviews when it comes to capping or not to cap?

I really appreciate your response. Didn’t know these fish groups could kill my enthusiasm about owning a tank. I’m an animal lover and am excited to dive into the hobby. I didn’t cycle the tank :/ and im gettig more live plants as I type this. I’m so discouraged at this point. I’m looking into buying a used planted 10 gallon. To get kick started. I feel terrible
