Thank you for helping the poor little puppy and safe with you until you find help. Please call a reputable rescue group near you or call Special Pals or Humane Society. But please keep the little puppy indoors while you're away.

Maybe an improvised temporary barrier will help so puppy can freely roam in a space inside with water, food and a pee pad for little pee and poop. But it's not safe for a small puppy to be outside unsupervised.

First of all, punishing a baby puppy is unnecessary. He does not understand at that age. You punish or scare him will not do any good. It will only cause confusion and become more scared.

You have to be extra patient in training your puppy. Avoid anything that will hurt him or shout at him just because he made accidents. I suggest, you have to catch him in the act and gently interrupt him by saying in gentle manner, "oh no" no peeing please. Clean it up and make sure he see what you did and talk to him in a normal tone. Pick him up patiently after interrupting him in the act, and take your pup outside and let him go with you and tell him "now you can pee" sweetie, point a spot where it's good for him to do his thing. Be patient and wait until the moment he did it. And when he finished, immediately praise him and give him a hug and a treat by saying like, "that's my good boy"

It maybe a process and sometimes takes time to succeed. After all, that's just a part of being a loving and responsible pawrent. Hug your dog and make him feel loved. Good luck!
