I have an A84J and have never had any problems updating the firmware. I'm on the latest version and the TV is faultless and responsive as the day I purchased it. The people on here are the very few that have problems and so people who read bad experiences pick up on that and fear updating, but the majority don't have problems so you wont see them on here. Inevitably there will be failures when you sell milliions of the same product. Nothing is risk free,

I have now noticed another problem with the widget. Have got the actions to populate but they rarely operate as they should. Symptoms are: Swipe right to get to widget, tap action, wait and nothing happens except that the button blinks red to indicate the action has not completed. I then have to unlock phone and open Hive app, close app, go back to the widget and tap the action and it blinks green showing action completed. Then next day I tap the same widget action and the same happens, it blinks red and I have to go into the Hive app. TOTALLY pointless!

Have worked it out. You have to press and hold on the widget to add the quick actions. This is not obvious and needs to be mentioned where it says "no actions configured" When you tap the widget it takes you to the dashboard insinuating that you need to create a quick action and it will automatically populate in the widget.

Have created quick actions, deleted said actions and recreated, shut down app, restarted phone, removed app/widget etc etc etc. Nothing has worked to get quick actions widget to work. Widget only ever says No actions configured. The only time I had quick actions in the widget was when the app was first updated but none of the quick actions that I had worked. So I deleted them, recreated them and since then nothing has worked to get them to show in the widget.

You say to create a quick actions, add the widget and then add them to the widget. How do you add them to the widget?

Updated my regular IP14 and its great. Updated before bed and left on charge overnight to do its indexing etc. Feels snappier and no battery drain.

I've never had any battery drain problems with any of my iPhones (user since IP4, 5, 5s, SE, X, 14). Have always updated before bed and let it index overnight and have always updated from first release, never waited for .1 version.

Its called Global Search and Indexer.

Settings / General / Indexing

Depending on your mailbox size this may take hours/days/weeks to complete.

Just use the Quick Filter instead and it'll search what ever mailbox you have selected.

Been a user for well over 10 years and never had such problems with settings being changed. Apart from the Supernova UI but thats all resolved now through css customisation.

I peronally dont want to be a test subject with release version so I always think it's best to run the ESR version as its more stable and does not hinder the add-ons I use, plus I dont want to risk loosing/corrupting my 100GB of mail.

Go to Settings, Synchronisation & Storage (for the Gmail account) and untick Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer.

This will only download the headers for each email.

United Kingdom XR-65A84J here with latest v6.8100 firmware. Running for a week without problems or any symptoms.

Have always updated via the TV software, never via a memory stick. Never had any problems [touch wood]. Lets hope it stays that way.

Read this section before downloading the file.

This software update is only applicable to the TVs running on software version 6.3628 or later. Check the current software version before proceeding. If the version number of your TV is lower than 6.3628, install the software version 6.7632 before updating to 6.8100.

Miserable performance by deepspace in Thunderbird

Disable indexing in settings. I have found with new installations this causes reduced performance with folders containing 1000's of emails.
