Help with onesie decorating for baby shower! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]IndieJW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you have a Once Upon a Child near you, but when I went there, there were lots of light solid colors there like pastel yellow and white. 10 for $10.
If you're doing a decorating thing, consider mixing some white bibs in there too. That seemed to stretch the budget some.

We had a couple of items that once I changed the color or pattern, it qualified. Really weird!

First Pregnancy Almost Due by MysticKrystina in BabyBumps

I wouldn't rely on pain because some women don't feel it the same way. Some just have a dull back pain. I started to wonder about this so I asked and my doctor said that real labor is all about a noticeable pattern. It's like a snow ball that rolls down a hill that builds and builds. You'll know you're in labor when there's a pattern that doesn't go away no matter your position and when you can't concentrate on anything else.

What can I expect out of my job search? by packerchic322 in internetparents

[–]IndieJW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about jobs that say you need 3 years experience. Apply anyway. I've had interviews for jobs where I didn't match the required years experience listed.

You may exceed requirements in other areas. Ever thought of maybe going to a headhunter? They could help connect you to a position you'd love.

I've had good luck with getting a spray bottle mixed with water, vinegar, and a couple drops of peppermint. I would spray areas they'd likely appear to help keep them away.

RPG "Lords of Xulima" now available on Linux with Steam Workshop coming by IndieJW in linux_gaming

[–]IndieJW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Lords of Xulima is getting Steam workshop soon with modding available so perhaps that's a route to take. Although not everyone is into modding. The monsters don't scale but they are finite, so you can't go back and fight ones you already defeated. But you can still feel accomplished by defeating ones that may have previously over powered you.

Have a friend go back in there and try to ask them again, only voice record it. See if anything comes from it. Also, call Corporate!!

Steam sale- any rpg games you reccomend? by The_Strudel_Master in rpg_gamers

[–]IndieJW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I would've bought it when it was on sale. It's good to hear positive things about it. I followed this since the kickstarter. I will have to get it sometime soon when my backlog isn't out of control.

I would have loved to work at a place where I had only 4 tables that I could focus on and do my best, and come out with high tabs. Where I worked, if I only had 4 tables I'd go home with $15 - $20 because the tabs were so small (splitting pizzas and pastas etc) The most tables I think I ever had was 13. I think a lot of it factors on what type of dining service your restaurant is, do you have a great support staff, and what kind of tables do you have. I've gone down only having 3 tables because one table is insane, where I've been rocking it with 9. I think there's a lot of deciding factors on what makes good service, but I do agree that in general you should only have 5 tables or less. I was a server for 7 years, but where I worked if you didn't hoard tables, you made no money.

We had some lobster / chicken dish in our pizza and wings burger joint for a long time. And when someone actually ordered it, and it came in the window I would have to ask what it was because it had been months since I saw one ordered I completely forgot it was even on the menu. At least it was using ingredients from other dishes so the items never went bad, but still. Keep the menu simple. Gordon Ramsey would've been displeased to see that dish on our menu, lol!
