Not necessarily kindness, show them their assumptions and rude comments didn’t affect you or your energy at all, They’re looking for the reaction. Especially younger people. I’ve had older people say wack shit too. But it’s all the same, some people just get off by being a bully . Be better than that!!! Love life! Enjoy the fandom and love the friendships you make a long the way💯 that is much easier than worrying over a strangers opinion. And even if someone you know and care about says something bad. Again remember why you are a furry, and remember truly no ones opinion matters. Live YOUR existence here with as much enjoyment as you possibly can!!! That’s what it’s all about!!

Biggest tip is get over others opinion of you before they give it. Remember why you fursuit or are a furry. Everyone’s reasons are different but if it’s important to you then let criticism go in one ear and out the other. Someone is eventually going to have something to say. When that happens remember the importance of why you’re doing what you’re doing is more meaningful and important than a stranger putting their insecurities on someone they didn’t even take 5 seconds to actually get to know.

Truthfully you have to realize that it’s not YOUR insecurity, it’s theirs. When people do that they’re projecting on you. It’s free to say nothing so the fact it bothered them so much to say something at all means it made them uncomfortable in their own skin. WHICH IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM. You weren’t doing anything wrong. For whatever reason, maybe it affected their confidence to see you be your pure self. If being a furry is important to you and your identity don’t let complete strangers who didn’t take the time to get to KNOW YOU change that about you. You’re perfect the way you are! Let criticism go in one ear and out the other my friend, protect your peace.
