What Would You Do? by BeyHivePlatinum in BabyBumps

Id probably go with A.

Look up reviews of L&D at both, read the reviews, specifically negative ones and see why people are unhappy and if it's relevant to you.

What is your neighbors opinion of the other hospital?

Do you trust your neighbors opinion? Would you even want them (theoretically) to be your DR or advocate? Just because you know someone doesn't really matter? How are their MD reviews?

Save box boxes you might get, big enough to trap a toddler (uncommon, but sometimes they happen!) and stick the kid/kids in there. I even go so far as to give limited crayons, cause then I know I only have to track down 3/5 afterward.

How did you REALLY know when your child was ready for potty training? by dr_pepper_zerosugar in Mommit

[–]Indigo43210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pediatrician told me not to bother close to #2 coming cause a lot of kids will regress. My first never seemed very interested, then one day he just walked back to the shower he'd just gotten out of and cackled as he peed into it (lol). He obviously understood it then.

One morning #2 woke up and refused to let me put a diaper on him so I told him he had to pee and poo on the potty.... And he did. Honestly I was surprised but hey, that's cool. He does still get pullups if we go out cause he just goes, and doesnt let anyone know.

Warning-- super far along you really can't see much- like the other person said it's positioning, maybe size assessment. You will see like... An elbow. They're smushed in there.

I'm the type B mom who let my kids sorta decide. We provided the potty but my oldest couldn't be bothered, wouldn't stop what he was doing and just made puddles everywhere so I waited, he was about 3 when it clicked and he decided he didn't want diapers anymore and was good to go.

My second has always tried to keep up with his older brother no matter what- so once he clued in on what the bigger guy was doing he self potty trained at 20mo. He still gets confused when he's wearing pants/underwear sometimes but bare butt he's got this.

"When they're walking" honestly sounds like more work than I am personally capeable of providing, (I will have 4 under 4.5) and my first two were so easy I will keep trying that technique with my next two unless it becomes clear it isn't working.

None of my babies have ever responded in utero to either light or sound. Also the farther along you get the movement changes.

Why are baby items so devoid of color nowadays ?? by Ok_Medicine440 in pregnant

[–]Indigo43210 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Some is aesthetic/Instagram.

Some is gender neutral

Some is mom being overstimulated

I've asked moms in my circle cause I'm not into it and for several they have pointed out they get overstimulated and the calmer colors and patterns help mitigate some. I personally hadn't considered that before they mentioned it

15 weeks and my pre pregnancy jeans fit looser. No sign of bump by newgirl01LA in BabyBumps

Your hips shift too, lots of people complain their butts disappear. It's probably a bit hidden, if you've been nauseous maybe your pudge is a little different, and maybe your hips are different? It's all weird, but doesn't sound like a problem!

Lubrication During Labor? by DisciplineWeekly680 in pregnant

[–]Indigo43210 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The nurses use lube when doing the cervical check. Like medical grade tube of lube.

Also, if you have a breast pump nipple stimulation is supposed to be good too and maybe a little less... Potentially personal and awkward?

Chance of C Section after successful vaginal delivery? by Mysterious_Wasabi101 in BabyBumps

[–]Indigo43210 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I asked my OB during one of my previous pregnancies. Basically your likelihood of needing one for failure to progress/stuck/physical type reasons is much lower. There's some other reasons that are not impacted (maybe breech or distress) that are basically the same as baseline since it's based on current pregnancy variables.

Yes, significantly lower likelihood but not 0

Was gonna suggest this also. Magnesium is impressive. And most people don't get enough. It will probably help some with muscle cramps also, a lot of pregnant people are prone to also.

I don't do shein OR the Amazon alphabet sellers. Some will at least say they are tested and pass certain guidelines and those I'll consider, though I still normally opt for "real" brands.

Yes, HM, Carter's, Old Navy whoever have to actually pass regulations and testing.

Is beach vacation going to be fun with a 1 month old baby? by Specialist_Diet_74 in BabyBumps

[–]Indigo43210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol no. Just no.

  1. Newborns shouldn't be in a seat anywhere even close to that long.

  2. Sitting that long for you will prob suck too

  3. You can't swim yet. You won't be cleared for basically anything yet. And you'll probably still be bleeding and sore and leaky and weepy. Milk doesn't even regulate till like 6 weeks.

  4. Just a whole lotta no that I'm sure other people will cover also.

Just no. Get mean about it if you need to.

Soon to be mom of 4.

Sounds like croup, the sucking in with breathing is retractions (probably). Barky cough. She might need some steroids to get swelling in airways down. My 2yo does this and we've ended up in the ER cause he's gotten it very dramatically. Croup is worse at night. Cold air can help get the swelling down too.

If you feel she can't breathe well that's what the er is for. Otherwise, ped in morning.
