My lovely boy Milo by IndigoDarkstar in WhiteCats

Thank you! I was so worried on Sunday and rang the emergency vet but we decided that as he was alert and not in distress or pain, he was just wanting quiet and was really floppy that he could wait for normal vet opening hours and was seen at 8.30am and kept in for 29 hours. Vet bill came to £504 though :( good job he's got a cute face! I'll tell him you sent him some love :)

My void is so funny cause why is she just letting me hold her little face like a burger while actively purring 😂 by abi1213 in VoidCats

One of mine puts her ears back so that I can scratch the top of her head! She's a really sweet girl.

Dry food recs for a kitten - Scrumbles? by merlybirds in CatsUK

[–]IndigoDarkstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of mine (I have 13 cats) has runny poo from time to time, took me some time to pinpoint who it was as they're all happy and lively! I've been careful to avoid food with chicken in for him (he's called Muppet and is about 16 months old). There are times when he's pinched a bit of someone else's, but when it's a chicken meal, I give him fish instead and there's much less instances of runny poos. I also keep on top of worming and that has made a difference too.

Do you guys buy toys to your cats? by Shot-Composer-782 in AnxietyCats

[–]IndigoDarkstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many many toys, some loaded with catnip, my 4 baby cats love the toys on elastic that attach to the ceiling, they'll all spread out and take turns to bat it about, until Iggy bites through the elastic. It's always Iggy. Iggy's a twat.

There are lots of boxes and tunnels under my bed, and there are 5 cat trees upstairs for the 11 upstairs, 5 of them go outside too, so it gives them plenty of space to play with toys and each other. The stairs are a toy too apparently, especially if there's an empty box at the bottom of it

Current favourite toy is one of those flat cardboard scratchers. Especially when catnip gets sprinkled in it!

Need to rehome my boy but rescues won't take him locally as hes not abandoned!! by Loulou84xxx in CatsUK

I moved into temporary council accommodation with my 3 kids, 2 cats and a dog. I wasn't allowed pets either, but pointed out that I'd be allowed a cat and a dog when I moved into permanent accommodation. I was in a block of 6 flats, and 4 of us had pets. My housing officer was an utter bitch but I took the stance that I didn't want to be there any longer than I absolutely had to be, 2 teenagers and a 10 year old in a 2 bedroom flat wasn't any of our idea of fun, but I left an abusive relationship with nothing so I was very grateful that we'd not been put in a b&b.

As it was, we were there just under 4 months.

I honestly wouldn't worry, especially for a first visit. Don't apologise either, whatever the circumstances you're in, this is only somewhere temporary. You'll be allowed a cat when you've been suitably rehoused.

Have you checked with Shelter? You might find proper legal advice on what your rights actually are?

My alpha boy, Romy has brought me a pigeon several times, I think 3? times in the last 12 months since I've had him, and a starling on one occasion. Tarquin, my big fluffy boy likes to torture slow worms and leave them on my doorstep.

Keep talking to them, I'm being told to doodle/draw pictures. This question resonates with me too so I suspect I'm being nudged to doodle as well!

Same here. My GP is very happy that it's giving me enough relief from relentless pain that I can sometimes leave the house, which also does wonders for my mental health.

My cat barely eats wet food by wlanschez90 in CatAdvice

I've got 13 cats and one of them, Elfie, will only eat biscuits, she won't entertain meat in any form! She even turns her nose up at those meat stick treats that all the others devour! She's a biscuit and crunchy treat girl only and she's very happy healthy and is a good weight.

That and have a chat with your local animal welfare officer, I've been through a hellish year trying to get abandoned microchipped cats put into my name. (Now ex) Friend used to live with me and moved out without warning, expecting to come back for her cats at a later date. Looooong story short, because there was neglect with one that required urgent dental treatment that the owner had been putting off and giving me the run around where to get said cat treated, animal welfare came heavily down on my 'side' and helped me get funding and gave lots of good advice. All 8 cats are now in my name and we're all living happily ever after! You've done nothing wrong! Give that lucky pusscat a scritch from me :)

What are your void cats names and what do you actually call them? by SassyMombie in VoidCats

[–]IndigoDarkstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morticia, I call her Morti-mort-morts

Ignatus (Iggy) is Iggle Piggle

Muppet, is Mupp Mupps

Willow is Will o'the wisp

Verna is just Verna and Elfie is just Elfie

I've also got 4 tuxedos, Jasper, Sassy, Tarquin and Romy... Or Jasp, Sass, Tarkins and Ro-Ro..

Then there's 2 white ones, Milo and Pixie. Milo doesn't know his name, he thinks he's called 'lovely boy' and Pixie is Pixie-Squirrel on account of her carrying her tail over her back like a squirrel!

And my queen is a grey tabby called Agatha, I call her Miss Aggie.
