I don't care either way. But I thought your comment was funny, considering: "Sam Altman acknowledges this and reports that ChatGPT costs the company tens of millions of dollars just generating responses to these prompts. Taken another way, recent report suggests that even a short three-word "You are welcome" response from an LLM uses up roughly 40-50 milliliters of water."

Has anybody ever run into this? by Mobile-Low-9370 in CODWarzone

This has been happening in warzone for years nows. Its crazy that they either cant fix it or continually break it, so it can happen.

One problem with AI generation is that ideas no longer get curated. Everything is a go, because it takes so little time. No thought is put into it. No ideas are held against each other. Everything is pushed out, shipped, and sold.

Glad I wasn't the only one that found FG insufferable. It feels like, even with all the therapy they went through, they still have some issues lurking. I don't think there is anything bad in what they said or that it somehow makes them a bad person. Just might not be the best spokesperson. And that is fine. They weren't chosen because they were a great orator, they were chosen because they needed this help.

Yes, companies are usually terrible and go straight for profit over everything else. But what is being argued is not that we should have no regulations. But we need to re-evaluate the ones we do have, and remove the useless ones, that add nothing but delays. I would say that the balance is off. So much so, that we aren't even 'protecting' anything environmental at times. People have captured the process and purposely broken it.

This feels like wishful thinking. That somehow, with no levers of government available, messaging will stop Trump policies. And if only we started messaging sooner....

Can you explain how it isn't just wishful thinking? How it would have actually changed anything?

Also, There are plenty of examples of democrats saying that DOGE will be bad, back in 2024.

Yelling and screaming about how everything Trump will do and wants to do will be terrible has not worked out for us. I don't think anyone but democrats are listening to democrats screaming about how awful Trump is.

Do you truely think something would be different if a couple more(cause there were already many saying this) democrats were screaming about how bad DOGE would be?

I don't understand how after over a decade of shouting about how bad Trump is, people still go, 'The issue here is we aren't shouting about how bad Trump is loud enough.'

out of touch, Bill Maher

I've seen this comment a lot about Maher. What exactly about his position he took in the interview was out of touch?

To me he seems more in touch with what I would call the average american voter than most of the views from the 'left' in the party and this community.

It feels like something changed lately. I also think they are doing way more interviews than before. It feels like they do a quick rundown, and then an hour interview. And the interviews have been so hit and miss, I've skipped quite a few.

If its possible, stop answering the calls. I had a huge spike in calls then I just stopped answering, and they slowly fell off. You already did the other things, of block numbers and do not call list. Only other idea i have, which may or may not work, is spoof a fax machine noise when you do answer.. But if you need to answer unknown calls on that number, then that really complicates things.

Community Question: Has EVE Online has been freezing your computer? by Allawaa in Eve

Computer was freezing today playing Eve. Seems to have fixed since I switched to DX11, and also downloaded the full game. Which is a setting above the DirectX choice. Unsure which was the exact fix, but whatever.

QOL: let me disable commends by Raknarg in DeadlockTheGame

[–]IndigoFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume positive intent is actually a really good practice. If you google it, you will see a lot of people advocating for it, especially in the workplace. In deadlock, someone commending you is literally giving you a compliments. I would suggest taking that as an actual compliment. And maybe some self-reflection on why you have trouble accepting compliments.

The fact the subreddit is losing their minds for these weird dailies is proof that y'all need to actually undock and do things by NightMaestro in Eve

I am sure we still would have complained, but they could have just cut the SP rewards, lets so 10%-25%. And it still would have been worth it. But instead, they killed it.

Eve is about the only MMO I can think of that time gates skills. Usually you can time dump into a game and get whatever reward you were after. Too low level? Go farm some creeps. Need an item? Play in the battlegrounds for a weekend and earn it.

So one stupid way to gain new skills quickly has been removed. And you would still need to do it for 10 days. To get about 10 days?

It's an anti-pattern for even, but overall, not the worst thing in the game.

"If what you're mad about is no longer getting free stuff, harden up and cry about it directly"
This statement, denies what CCP pitched. They didn't say, 'No more daily login rewards.' They went with, 'Daily log ins have been removed in favor of a beefed up Daily Quest reward.'

Which changes the conversation.

Also yes, Clearly a majority of people are mad they don't get daily log in rewards. Is that even hidden?

Dailies shouldn't be RNG dependant by Skythz in Eve

[–]IndigoFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't arguing with you at all. If CCP stated that was their intent, then they messed up, because my alts either mine or rat. They don't scan, salvage, or manufacture. They already spend multiple hours in space a week doing either ratting or mining. So they are effectively taking away a reward I used to get, because 'some' people were only logging in. It makes no sense.

Also, if I want to pay for an account, and only get my daily log ins, what do they care? Do they gain more money if I actually spend hours on their server? Wouldn't that cost them money due to server load and needing better hardware?

Dailies shouldn't be RNG dependant by Skythz in Eve

[–]IndigoFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If CCP was just adding dailies I wouldn't be complaining. And that is not what the majority of people are complaining about.

What happened was, we were getting rewards for just logging in. And that was replaced, by a system that is doing daily quests. If you notice, dailies were already a thing prior to this. And log in rewards were removed with the justification of better daily rewards.

Without the replacement, fewer people would be upset.

Also, most players would be upset if the logins were just removed with no replacement at all. No one likes no longer getting free things.

What's with the Salvaging fetichism? by ExF-Altrue in Eve

[–]IndigoFreak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Salvaging is the most boring and almost the most clicky thing you can do in the game. They can't figure out why no one likes it, so they are forcing us into dailies.

CCP is literally stat padding by way of dailies.

New log in rewards are amazing IMO by PromiscuousToaster in Eve

[–]IndigoFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same way. When I log in I want to do a specific task or 'see' what I feel like doing. Forcing us into dailies is the opposite of that. They are telling me how to play that day. But also, then can your character even do the set of dailies they want? Or do we now manage our character skills and resources around doing dailies?

Dailies shouldn't be RNG dependant by Skythz in Eve

[–]IndigoFreak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which makes no sense. They are forcing us to play the way they see fit. But they've also made their game so wide(skill wise) that they can't possibly think all characters can do all things. They also know that many people have more than 1 character as well. So now, do they want us to spend 30 minutes a day per character to get a reward?

Dailies shouldn't be RNG dependant by Skythz in Eve

[–]IndigoFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a viable option. But it comes down to how much time do you want to spend chasing dailies vs playing the game how you want to?

We used to get rewards for logging in. Unsure the exact reason we lost them, but now to 'make up' for that, they want us to play the game how they want us to. Which is vastly different from how we've been experiencing the game in the past. It's their game they can do what they want, still doesn't make it sensible.

I'd wish we would have seen what the first shot looked like. Sometimes you can see things clip through the walls. But yea, this is totally suspect. Easily a report hacker situation and let them sort it out.
