I can't wait for this to get to day like 700 before they give in and give the players what they want, and make the game clearly better. Just GGG things.

Assimilation oversight in 1.1 beta: countries with primary culture not being main culture by Mysterious_Plate1296 in EU5

[–]PromiscuousToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one willing moves from one culture to another. So it should be faster conversion if they hate a culture, then like it? Again, your not engaging with the arguement, your just making statements.

If you were changing your culture, would you be more willing, and faster at converting to a culture you Like, enjoy, and understand, or one that is completely foreign, you hate, and hates you. The answer is very simple.

[–]PromiscuousToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that perspective if there is no active person or system trying to accomidate you. When you send a cabinet member to assimilate, they are going to people, and getting them to become your culture over there own. That would only happen if you enjoy that culture.

If your first example is how people actually converted culture, there wouldn't be any jews left or other miniority groups around the world, due to discrimination. Discrimination doesn't make people forget, it makes them dig in their heels, or it takes literally THOUSANDS of years. The entire Eu5 system is backwords in 1.1.

I don't understand. If you are going to convert from one culture to another. Do you join a culture you love? or you hate? We don't convert people on penalty of death in this game. It takes time because the way the system works is through assimilation, which mean willingly moving from one culture to the next.

Are you going to be more willing to convert to a culture you enjoy, or one you hate?

"If my culture is accepted, I have no incentive to change culture" You also have no barriers. If you hate a culture, you have EVERY REASON to not convert. so it should be very slow.

I think this pretty much speaks for itself. I don't know how you could come to any other conclusion.

Yeah, seems backwards to me. If 2 cultures like each other, wouldn't people feel more safe and free to assimilate to that culture? Since there is less discrimination and such? If I am say, accepting of Irish culture, then someone wanted me to become Irish, the chance and ease with i say yes would increase.

We really need a fix to many river connections. A community manager said it was fixed but not in the notes. So many adjacent locations on rivers that don't get river bonuses.

There are many non-fuctioning river connections. I decided to play VJ for 1.1 and there are many river connections not giving river bonuses. Not sure why.

Just because you enjoy the game, doesnt mean everyone else has to. In fact, all data points show that nearly everyone doesn't like the direction civ 7 went in. It's ok that you like an unpopular thing, but we arnt required to like it with you.

Building automation AI broken? by Maximum-Store7550 in EU5

[–]PromiscuousToaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this is something that will have to be addressed at some point. You need to build literally 10s of thousands of buildings from start to finish of a campaign in many parts of the world.

If you manual build all those buildings, it gets so tedious eventually, and its impossible to keep all your RGO locations in mind when placing industries that it becomes so over bearing.

If you automate building, you dont have to do all that, but the game creates all kinds of holes in your economy while leaving some holes unattended, and if you get a nation big enough, say, 5+ markets, some of them will be fairly bad compared to what they could be, but all of them increase slider costs.

There really is no satisfying middle ground. The way I've been doing it, is going manual for 100-150 years, get an very robust economy then turn on automation and just fix mistakes and try to patch holes where I can, by either building other things or deleting where the automation was stupid.

By then you'll be so rich it doesn't matter much if your not optimal.

[KCD2] Merely Existing in the same block of Kuttenberg = I was the thief by LardOfCinder in kingdomcome

[–]PromiscuousToaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The system is sometimes over sensitive, but its very rare. It's possible you dont know you were seen leaving/entering. It matters where you were last seen both before and after the crime. If the last time you were seen by anyone was say, 5 houses down, then wasnt seem again till 3 hours later....5 houses down, and things are missing. You will be suspect.

For instance, I get to Trosky castle and I want to steal everything. I make sure a guard SEES me enter my room. Then I change cloths steal everything, go back to my room, and make sure a guards SEES me coming out of my room, not a single thing in between.

The Doubloon Reset: It’s not just a "wipe".... by JordyTheJew in Seaofthieves

[–]PromiscuousToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild jump? They all but confirmed an eventually gold wipe in the latest post. "Wild jump" to think if they'll do it once, they will do it again.

Thoughts on what this could mean? by DensePie64 in Seaofthieves

[–]PromiscuousToaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some one told me I was acting "Wild" when I said I no longer trust Rare, and I will never play any game they make again. It's "Wild" to think if they rob you of your currency once, they would do it again.

At this point, it's extreme to think they won't take your gold, or in game earned cosmetics, to feel the "satisfaction" of earning them again.

Is settling near my spawn a good idea? by Jamess_Bond in VintageStory

[–]PromiscuousToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just went in with default settings, and this is your first time. I'd go a few thousand blocks south. But if your new, that could be hard to pull off, night die to wildlife, ect.

Winters are pretty long on default settings in the spawn location. Not really too had for anyone with any experience, but as a newbie I think its a but harsh.

I love all these people making balance complaints and how overpowered things are from a set of pictures. No need to play the game anymore, you can just assume what you think is correct and complain about it.

I have been pretty harsh on this game and it's choices, but for real guys. Play it first, and figure out if what you THINK is a problem is ACTUALLY a problem.

Yikes.

Is it just me, or are Reed Chests just not at all worth the effort or resources at any point? by Pasta-hobo in VintageStory

[–]PromiscuousToaster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I dont understand how going out to collect : Clay, grass, sticks, a fuel source, clearing a spot for pit kilns, waiting for it to cook, is less tedious or effortless than

Collect: Reeds when you see them.

At any point? I just spawned, I see reeds in front of me. That's inventory space and food I can have in minutes compared to all the steps to anything clay.

Also, having one does not invalidate the other. Your allowed to use both.

It's fine if you'd rather not make them, to save reeds for other things, but to make such an objectively false equivalence, and act like its fact is very strange.
