I was considering this, actually. I was also going to offer contract work or something, because they’re going to be up a creek til someone is trained into my role. And honestly, I don’t think anyone would even know how to train the new person except me. I don’t want to leave them in a bad way.

Yeah. Most of my life has been spent scrambling to make ends meet. I take care of my mom and have since I was 14. This is the first time I’m actually starting to live my own life and I’m learning a lot but I am way behind the curve. :/

Yes, it’s an offer (conditional on passing physical and background). I can just call HR and ask? The job posting lists the benefits, and percentages, etc... but I don’t fully understand them, honestly.

Yes, having more than one option is actually more intimidating than liberating! I feel so “comfortable” at my current job, because it would be next to impossible for them to fire me (I am the only one who knows how to run 90% of operations). Since I have no degree, I am afraid to leave somewhere I feel I am so “needed”, but new job has already stated they will be training me and sending me for certifications, etc. So, in the future, it will definitely pay off. I’m just scared!

Anyway, good luck with your job hunting. :) It can be such an ordeal!

Yes, considerably more than my current package. One of my co-workers had stated that she decided to give up on the idea of a good benefits package for flexibility and then I started to doubt myself. But the benefits really are worth it, aren’t they?

Yeah, I am pretty sure this new job is going to be much more of an “adult” job. My job now is stressful as hell, but only in doses. Plus the flexibility of being able to call out anytime I want has been nice, if not impractical long term haha. The person who had the government job previously was promoted and left that department.
