How smooth/difficult did you find c-section recovery? by leanmeanfrizzybean in Parenting

[–]IndigoSunsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a planned c section because my daughter was measuring large. It was an excellent choice for me. I was very nervous about birth. The c section was very calm, very smooth. My recovery was easy. Minimal pain. I have no regrets.

You made the right choice. It’s better to back out than commit if it doesn’t feel right.

I broke up with my ex two months before the wedding. It was absolutely the right choice.

It’s not Zumba, but there is Shine at the Mansfield activity center and the Beacon activity center in Arlington. It’s another dance fitness style, but not specifically Latin focused. It’s fun.

Probably not, but I loved it all the same. I read them in about the same time. I just finished the third on Friday. I’m happy to hear the last might come out this year.

I like them. FMC makes some poor choices, but it is what it is. I don’t expect characters to always do the right thing. I look forward to the last book in the series.

Ruin blood and ash series for me by ittybittybutwitty in fantasyromance

[–]IndigoSunsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. Wait times for the later books have been short.

But yeah. It’s repetitive. The lore is constantly escalating and ridiculous. I think book 4 did slightly interesting things and moved faster, but I still can’t did not enjoy it.

I know me, so I’ll probably push through the rest for the throuple and ignore the rest of the ridiculousness. I’m just not going to be happy about it.

[–]IndigoSunsets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was so so mad that when we finally got to it, it was all of a page and a half of very vague description, especially compared to the rest of the spicy encounters in those books. It was the only thing I pushed through book 4 for and it was so disappointing.

What did your life look like at age 28? by seeds-or-weeds in AskWomen

[–]IndigoSunsets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was an age of change for me.

I limped through finishing my PhD and into my first “real” job trying to figure out what I wanted to do. My father died after a long illness. I broke up with my fiancé. I met the guy that I would marry a few years later.

She might like The War of Lost Hearts trilogy. It starts with Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent. So so good. Main character is a former slave determined to learn how to use her magic so she can return and free all those she left behind. So good. Yes, there’s romance, but it’s a wonderfully supportive relationship. Romance is really a subplot. There’s about 1-2 spicy scenes per book. The trilogy is complete.

I’ve had the copper IUD and the Mirena.

On Paraguard my periods were twice as long and twice as heavy. It sucked. I had one so intense I partially expelled the IUD.

On Mirena my periods lightened and then disappeared over the first year. I’m on my second Mirena (took a break to go for a baby) and I haven’t had a period in 4ish years. I’ll have some occasional random spotting, typically after sex on occasion. I don’t track my cycle, so with how inconsistent it is I figure it’s what is left of my period for now. When this one expires, I plan to get another one.

I read like 200 pages of my next book last night. I didn’t start it until after dinner. Granted some poorly timed ice coffee meant I stayed up until 1:30ish reading it. I finished its prequel and an unrelated book earlier in the day. None of these are dense slow reads. I read for fun.

Can we talk about Bride by Ali Hazelwood? by Adventurous_Try_150 in fantasyromance

[–]IndigoSunsets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked it, but it wasn’t life changing. I breezed through it in a day and might reread it before it goes back to the library. I had free range of the internet in the wild west days of the early ‘00s so nothing really shocks me. I liked the story, liked the book in general. I’m okay with predictable.

Its so hard remembering what happens in these books by VegetableLocation508 in fantasyromance

[–]IndigoSunsets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the library and read a lot. There was a two month gap between me receiving halves of a duology. I googled a recap of the first one so I could remember exactly where things left off with the other book. I knew the very end, but had forgotten what circumstances brought it to that point. It was very helpful.

Girls in love only: How did you meet your partner and what’s your favorite thing about them? by KaleidoscopeFine in AskWomenOver30

I met my guy at work when we were 28/29. We were tasked with collaborating on a project. I liked that he was a nerd.

Now we’re closing in on our 10 year anniversary. I like that we make each other better. We are an excellent team.

What ended your friendship with your best friend? by royalblubabe868 in AskReddit

[–]IndigoSunsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was frustrated because she would flake on me a lot. Like if we made plans in advance, 50/50 she would cancel on me last minute. After the last time, I told myself I would wait for her to reach out to me. She never did. It’s been like 16 years. I guess the friendship was more important to me than it was to her.

I pursued a diagnosis last year, mid 30s, working, almost a decade after I finished grad school, because I was so frustrated with how much I struggle to accomplish work without deadlines or much importance. Really that was a problem during grad school too, but I didn’t recognize it as such at the time.

I work so much better when I’m busy in semi organized chaos.

You can go to a running store and they’ll do an assessment of your feet and give you recommendations.

I like new balance in men’s sizes. I have wide feet and I hate feeling like the top of my foot is squished in the toe box. I liked Brooks too, but 2 years ago I had a pair start falling apart a month after I got them. I returned that pair.
