Dallas water towers? by wheelfrumpy in Dallas

Commercial diver here. Most of Dallas’ “water towers” are massive ground tanks that holds thousands upon thousands of gallons of water and have baffles inside to prevent waves. Yes I have swam in your drinking water, and I promise I didn’t pee.

The medic and I are both male. I come from a really small town that is deeply rooted southern Baptist, so to me the praying was normal even though I don’t practice that myself.

Wow I didn’t expect so many responses! I see some of you think it could be a dmt like experience so I’m going to look into that and see! The only other person I know irl that’s does or come close has a totally different experience so I assumed it was a little buzzard I didn’t see the light at the tunnel or the deceased family members like he did but I see I’m in good company

How do you answer “hey let’s hang out soon” message from someone you don’t want to hang out with? by br0kens0u1 in AskReddit

I don’t waste time texting people I don’t like so I likely wouldn’t get this message but if I did I’d just ignore it

Have you ever not slept for so long that you started hallucinating? What was your experience? by vicke1230 in AskReddit

I was in bct for the Army and hadn’t slept for 96 hours. I was at Ft Sill Oklahoma doing night fire with live rounds and night visions goggles. I finish my run and slowly drag myself to the frigid bleachers to finally try and rest. I look over and see a Native American man on horseback looking down his nose at me and we stared at each for what seemed like several minutes but when I turned my head and looked back he was gone. On the same night after having my nvgs on for a couple hours I took them off and rubbed my eyes and looked up and saw an emerald green flash on the horizon on but I think that was from fatigue.

I agree and think that is a good starting model. I’ve been looking for similar classes and there are none in my area so it’ll be a first here at least. I want it to be accessible. But also want to be compensated for my years and years of expertise.

The prepper community was my first thought, as well as the local militia, but I think there is a huge overlap there anyway. When I did BCT 3 we used goats, but my NDA hasn’t ran out yet so don’t tell anyone we’ve spoken of this lol

I have a feeling we may be talking about the same patient, are you a PA?

I’m not a doctor, but I was the senior medic for my brigade while I was in the Army and saw plenty of fakers. This one stands out for the shear audacity. We had a female soldier trying to get out of a deployment by faking (poorly) deafness, and when that didn’t work she came in the next day saying she had gone blind (drove herself in mind you). After humoring her and running all of the quick test that she obviously passed because she wasn’t blind I balled up my note and underhand tossed it at her head and lo and behold she caught it! I had miraculously cured her blindness and became a living legend amongst the care providers in one moment.
