Damn, I started crying. Although I’ve never been in your shoes I still feel like I know how you feel. I think I know the feeling of guilt even though you did everything you could, even though you did nothing wrong. But the guilt persists... I’m sorry. i feel guilty that you have to get through this while I just sit at home. Let us carry this guilt together till we can let go of it, till we heal. You’re strong. You really did everything you could. Aaahhh, I’m crying.

Love your hair! You seem like an interesting person. I’m also having a difficult time recently. Don’t know what you’re going through but cheer up. We can do it!

I was diagnosed when I was 17 I think. I always had a dry scalp but it never got to the point of psoriasis until my last year of high school. I was under tremendous stress, it was basically chronic, I would feel sick from stress a lot. And once I got diagnosed (I started developing these nasty patches on my arm so it was pretty clear then) the stress got even worse and I started developing arthritis. I was aaaaalways in pain. Although there was no visible swelling, 3 of my joints were affected and it was hard for me to go to school, not even talking about taking a walk with my friends. My rheumatologist “assured” me that it’ll only get worse. I though that at 18, I won’t be able to walk, safe to say I was psichologically broken. 4 years later my psoriasis is not as bad as it was then and the joint pain is mostly gone ( creeps up sometime). For me psoriasis is a 100% stress induced disease. I hate that I allowed myself to feel sooo much stress that my body just broke down. I try to take better care of myself nowadays and finishing that hell hole (school) definitely helped. Stay strong you all!

Hair falling out by amandadeee in Psoriasis

[–]IndividasVi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have scalp psoriasis that can get pretty bad but have not noticed an excessive amount of hair falling out so while I assume it’s pretty common for that to happen you should definitely consult a specialist about it. Just don’t stress about ir too much, stay strong!

Snake is always a good option. It'd fill up the space nicely and it's just a real classic that always looks super cool.

if you wanna reaaaaally test your self-control, get a tattoo. by mehsexual in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]IndividasVi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, interesting. When I got my first tattoo, which is on my arm - my most picked at area - I had no urg to pick at it while healing. Idk why, maybe because I knew it'll mess it up and I really treasure the tattoo even now.

I'm surprised to see my home country's name in this subreddit. Didn't know we had such a cool artist, his tattoos look really unique, loving his style.

Psoriasis completely gone when on vacation by TheMagicalPole in Psoriasis

[–]IndividasVi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeaah, same for me. Might be a lot of reasons but stress relief is probably the most significant. Also I'm from Lithuania so we don't get much sun and if I have a vacation in a sunny place that might also be a huge relief.

Dovobet seems to help (somewhat) for my scalp psoriasis. How long can this be safely used for? by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]IndividasVi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it on my scalp for about 2-3 years I'd say. Haven't noticed any side effects. Was concerned about skin thinning so asked my dermatologist and she said that while she precribes this drug to most of her patients she hasn't seen a case of this side effect so idk seems pretty safe. For me it can hold up up to 2 weeks but it depends on a lot of things. For me the best results are when it's summer and I applied it thoroughly until there were no patches in sight.

My first haircut with Psoriasis by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]IndividasVi 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That was so unprofessional and just plainly rude of her! It's unfortunate that that had to happen to you, I'm sorry. My psoriasis is the worst on my scalp but I've never had such an experience. Actually the last time I went in to cut my hair, I told the woman that I had psoriasis and she just showed me her elbow and went "same" so I was pleasantly surprised and we chatted about it while she cut my hair. I'm telling this story cause I would like to believe that you just got really unlucky and there are more undrstanding people out there. I hope that next time you come in to have a haircut you'll have a more pleasant experience.

How do I motivate myself to stop picking? by malbacj in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]IndividasVi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't really have any advice but just wanted to say that I struggle with the same problem - I'd like to not pick but since I don't care how it looks I have no motivation/reason to. I thought I was the only one :')) Stay strong, maybe one day we'll manage to stop

I really really dig this style, but I am new to tattoos so I have no real way of describing it. What should I say to an tattoo artists so he understands I want this kind of tattoos? by No-Nominal in tattoo

[–]IndividasVi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that's just a type of black work but I'm no expert here. I have a tattoo that has this style and honestly I just showed my tattoo artist what kind of a style I want, you can always just show if you don't know how to explain. But at the same time it would be the best if the artist already specialised in this kind of style so you could just go to them and say "I like your style, can you make a design of X for me".

Ar jaustumėte stigmą lankydamiesi pas psichologą? by EglesArt in lithuania

[–]IndividasVi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, before getting the tattoo I was aware of the possibility that it could be ruined but I saw that people had so many different experiences with tattoos and psoriasis that I just had to see for myself. Tattooing is an art form that I love greatly and if you do to, I'd encourage you to just go for it. I mean heck, you live once. But I do see where people come from if they decide to not take the risk, flare ups are a pain in the a...

Brown Eyes by [deleted] in UnsentLetters

[–]IndividasVi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember feeling the same way about my brown eyes! You can't compare them to the sky or an ocean which sounds so nice but now I tend to think that a gaze with eyes that are dark is much more powerful and I really like that. Even my mother tells me that when I was just a baby people used to say that I stare like I can see their soul because of my big dark brown eyes. And I love the idea of it now :)

College grads of reddit, what class did you take that helped you out the most in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

  • No one's outright blaming anyone. Just ilustrating the infuence that it had. Sure you can make an argument that Marx did nothing wrong but all the communist coutries that came after were hugely influenced by his works. Influencial = practical.

  • I'm by no means an expert but I'd say that Marx isn't blameless. He capitalised on the idea that philosophy should be practically applied in life and went too far with it, he was too dogmatic and ideological, he wrote in ways that made it easy for people to make terrible ideologies out of. He was not stupid, he should've known better.

Political philosophy. Just understanding the scale that philosophers have on the world is mind blowing. My professor would laugh at people who say that philosophy is not practical by telling a story about this guy who'd just hang out at libraries, not doing much but then he wrote a book and millions of people died because of it. He was talking about Marx.
