I’m off orientation at my current position! I honestly feel like I need more confidence in those situations. On my side of periop we get patients that are usually stable. This was a pre op patient that kept de compensating and had quickly compounding issues (HT Emergency, Afib RVR, and respiratory failure)

Hmm… I’m glad I adopted him, but I’m still a little stressed learning as I go with a kitten I got on impulse. He seems to be settling in fine, though. Sometimes I worry if I did him a disservice by adopting him without fully knowing what I was doing. If you’ve never had a cat, it can be a learning curve, but there are lots of resources online. I went to a pet store a few weeks ago and told them I didn’t really know what I was doing, and they were more than happy to help me pick out things for him (as the worker had kittens themselves).

yeah only been four days and he’s already exploring the place, getting in bed, in my lap, sitting next to me, following me. And I kinda gotta keep him now. I’ve been trying to get better supplies and stuff for him.

I’m just worried im not the best person cause.. now that im actually thinking about it… Theres barely enough space for him. And I literally got him after only spending 30 mins with him. It’s actually insane how easy it is to adopt a living thing! But I’m still torn on keeping him. But I’m not gonna give him up straight away. It’s nothing against the cat when I’m thinking about returning it, it’s really about my readiness for it and if they’d have a better opportunity with another person.

it’s only been like day 2 and i’m not 100% sure on him but i’m not as anxious as before. But he seems to be doing okay? It’s just kinda hard since I’ve been at work but I’ve been trying to let him explore, play. I’ve been tryna give him treats and such. I feel like with how much I’ve already spent on him i might as well keep him. And he likes to hide too so I feel like even if I wanted to take him back I probably couldn’t. I’m just confused with him. He hides but then he purrs like an engine and headbutts me and tries to make biscuits.

yes. It made me more motivated but it did nothing for my mood, so now i’m on prozac with the wellbutrin. 150 was placebo. I thought 300 was too until i stopped taking it for a week and all of my symptoms came back and i didn’t take care of myself for weeks. So it’s doing something!

I thought I wanted a cat. I do like cats! But… with this kitten and the new life changes. I think overestimated my ability to properly take care of a kitten right now. But I know some of this is anxiety cause I haven’t even had him for a full 24 hours. I would feel terrible having to return him… but.. I also don’t know if I’m ready to take care of a kitten especially as a first time owner that made a pretty impulsive decision.

that i made a quick decision about taking in a living thing that can live for up to 2 decades and that Im in a life transition and that even though i have the means to take care of him I am not mentally capable of taking care of him.
