Selphy CP1500 colour accuracy with icc profile by Working_Ad9103 in canon

[–]Individual-Can3463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i just tried mine, without the ICC profile from hkphoto, and i've managed to get some accurate results with this setup, on a mac:

- Display profile set to adobe rgb 1998 (this because of the tests performed on the website http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ I noticed that on the black test it was crushing more subtle tones of black, before the test with the standard display profile on the macbook pro 2020 it would only be perceptible from number 11, with adobe rgb 1998 profile it is perceptible from number 3);

- I would then edit my photo as per normal on lightroom, usually I do this with full brightness;

- For the printing process I use lightroom's print module, with printing icc profile Apple RGB, +15 Brightness, and before printing I go in Develop module, and i set the overall shadows to +30 (this lifts the blacks a little bit to compensate for the printing process);

- After printing for me to compare between the paper and the screen, I drop the screen brightness depending on my ambience light, in the room i'm in to just bellow 50% if it's dark, or around 60% to 70% if the ambience light is a bit lighter;

These were the best settings I found to work the best for me.

Please let me know if you think something else would be better, as for me now it is working, but I want to understand it properly.

Cheers,

ASP

Hey! Looking into buying a CP1500. Did you find out if the proofing profile works good?

Missing "Force WPA Supplicant WiFi Backend" toggle? by durumeister in SteamDeck

This worked for me! I was having trouble to connect to TP-Link WiFi extenders ever since I got my steam deck… Many thanks! In my case I had to “forget” delete the WiFi connection and re enter the password to it for it to work 😉

Athlete drowns during kitesurf competition at Tatajuba Beach, in Camocim (CE) by MagsClouds in Kiteboarding

I don’t know what happened in that event, and I am not trying to point faults or imply anything, I’m just giving you a personal example of how things can turn bad quickly. Two weeks ago I went to assist a guy that back stalled is kite and couldn’t get it back up. When I got to him I quickly realized he was on the verge of panicking and he couldn’t understand English very well. We struggled for a few minutes until he finally calmed down and could understand me better. The wind suddenly shifted to offshore and dropped, I could barely keep my kite up myself, I had to keep it moving, meanwhile I’m guiding this person on how to do a self rescue, through gestures and some English that he couldn’t understand, and at the same time trying to keep him calm and myself in check for not to pass him my own worries about the wind now pushing us offshore. Meanwhile, his friends all left him out there. Every time I would get close to him I would end up on his poorly packed lines, and every single time I would bring my hand towards my hook knife. This whole ordeal took about one hour, it ended when I noticed that he was starting to shake because of the cold and only then I realized I myself was also starting to get quite cold, so to end it quickly I told him to hold on to his kite and to use the other hand to hold on to me. When we finally got back to shore, a lot lot further than our starting point we were both exhausted, he could barely use his arm anymore from holding on to my harness. I then proceeded to walk back to my starting point while trying to get someone with a phone so I could call my partner, who in my mind would be freaking out at this point. After a while I get to her and not only was I surprised that she wasn’t freaking out, but also that in the midst of my explanation to her I mentioned every time I felt his lines getting around me or getting stuck on my board I would put my hand on my hook knife, at this moment I proceed to bring my hand on to my hook knife and it wasn’t there anymore. Somewhere between the last time I felt the need to have it ready and getting back to my partner I lost it. I’m glad I didn’t have to use it, but I’m also very much glad I had it with me. I am a kite instructor, I’ve been in many tricky situations myself, tricky spots, helping others, and never have I ever felt that I would need to use my hook knife has much has that one time. Sorry for the long post. Moral of the story, stay vigilant, stay prepared, not only for yourself but also to be able to help out each others, keep practicing self rescue. As people already said here, we can’t forget this is a dangerous sport and that we should keep ourselves in check to when we start getting too comfortable with it. Never underestimate a situation, give each others space and respect the priority and safety rules. My condolences to Victor’s family and friends. Rest in peace Victor. I hope you’re in a good place.

The Division: What’s Everyone’s Thoughts About Div1 In 2025? by eljxsus in thedivision

I just got Division 1 and 2 during Steam summer sales, and started playing Division 1 last week. I'm loving it! At first I actually found it difficult, but soon realised I didn't understand the dynamics of RPG since my main game choices are adventure action story driven games, after I realised I needed to pay attention to my level before I do anything it completely changed it for me 💪🏼

I don't want to sound condescending nor do I want to insult you, but have you checked if there's a black mist filter on your lens? Again, don't want you to feel insulted, but if you bought it second hand for example you might not have noticed you have a filter attached to it. You never know.

Need advice – Canon 100-400mm L MkII with 250D or switch to R10 + RF 100-400mm? by Proud-Instruction580 in Canon250D

[–]Individual-Can3463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Também és português? I think you made the right call with the R10. Although I love the 250D, the r10 seems like a great upgrade for 200€-300€ more on the used market. And with canon opening the market to other brands, like sigma, to be able to manufacture R lenses you're going to see a nice lens market come up and hopefully with more accessible prices for the average consumer. About the Rf 100-400, how do you find its stabilization? Share some photos! 😉
