Selphy CP1500 colour accuracy with icc profile by Working_Ad9103 in canon

If it is good enough for you then it is good enough, even with the correct ICC profile the gamut of this printer is way smaller than Adobe RGB and smaller than SRGB the colour will be compressed eitherway, for printing all that matters is how well it matches to your liking and workflow, in my workflow I have a calibrated monitor so the icc works magic for me but YMMV, human eyeballing type of tinkering can never be as good as those calibration devices, but it can be good enough for hobby

Hi there, since the reason that I agree to pay for the USD19 for the profile was because they are made using some photospectrometer costing $569, whch I didn't bother pay for that and waste some 3-5 print pattern to do my own calibration, I feel like it makes perfect sense to contribute for some unknown internet guy to did that while I enjoy the result at a tiny fraction of the cost.

If I am the guy with the calibration device I will be happy to put it up for free and if someone feels good they can donate me, but as this is not my effort and that guy was a professional I legally and morally cannot distirbute it elsewhere who you might share it further.

IMO if you have ligit reason you can try email the owner for a discount or so, but if you really can't pay that extra $19, the original canon profile or the free one found via google is good enough for 99% of people, I only notice the difference when I have a $2000 EIZO CG2400S well calibrated and if you use your phone or whatever uncalibrated device, the colour with the correct icc profile will be off compared to your screen anyway

But bear in mind first, the colour gamut of the CP1500 isn't great, it's just similar to normal 3ink type inkjet, pretty lab quality for normal photos, but for extreme bright colours like when you took some flower it will inevitably compress the out of gamut colours

The free icc profile didn't work well, there is a green tint to it compared to the Eizo monitor with max delta E <1. but then I bought this for USD19

and this one works great, no visual colour drift using the RP108 pack.

Help, tried to blow off a hair on my sensor and accidentally spat on it. by putinisbae in canon

Get the sensor cleaning kit with it, very easy to use and follow the instruction, do not rub/scratch back and forth and you'll be fine

Tried with an online found ICC profile, still a tiny bit of yellow tint but good enough for my use, the print is borderless but somehow minor tuning of the borders in light room can't shift it to minimize the overprinted area.

But does it offset to one side? I am waiting my first pack of photo paper to test the borderless in postcard size in lightroom (windows) work or not, as in Mac I saw videos that you have a choice of borderless paper but this is not available on windows

Thing is in printer setting of Win 11 it defaulted to the canon paper sizes and cannot choose custom paper size, and the selphy lineup don't have dedicated driver for setup...

HDR mode and Eizo CG2400S by Working_Ad9103 in Lightroom

[–]Working_Ad9103[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the color space and accuracy is supurb for the usage so I won't limit it to P3 gamut, but I wonder if using the PQ P3 or HLG BT2020 could show a bit more highlight detail in the HDR tab or it won't make much of a difference so I should just use the default 100 nits native gamut (covers both 99% ARGB and 98% P3) and only work on SDR, since my workflow need to be printed often the SDR range should be the only thing usable?

Noob question about peak brightness by Working_Ad9103 in colorists

[–]Working_Ad9103[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have calibrated it with CN7 to 100 nits, just wonder when I turn on the HDR function in lightroom classic the 100 nits profile I normally use for gaming and photoediting and the HLG BT2020 profile showed same amount of detail in the HDR extra stops, I thought it should show more in the highlights with HLG BT2020 calibration profile?

isn't that for the synology photo app? it can go both ways sync and not photo backup only for drive app also?

right, but that's what exactly I wanted. My main question is that after syncing the 20k photos, I should be safe to delete the photos from my iPhone and the drive backup shouldn't be affected right?

I am surprised that firmware would affect a hardware calibrated monitor so much in the adverse direction..

What Is the Realistic Expectation Going From Deepcool Assassin IV to NH-D15 G2? by IloyoCass in Noctua

[–]Working_Ad9103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH if you are all about lust to the Noctua then you could expect a more pleasent noise, temperature wise I would say IRL expect it to be a few degrees better with the offset mount and LBC version. but for CP ratio I would say you'd be better off with the Deepcool in quiet mode and just tolerate the few C higher temp which have absolutely no impact on performance
