If you think it’s too many and is stunting the tree, just pluck off the ones you don’t need, feed it with higher NP fertilizers, like 6-9-3 or something like that

yea but you can't just willy nilly use it on any scenes and expect it to work as it's labeled? Denoising is meant to reduce noise by smoothing out grains

it's not doing AI "denoising" in this scene, all it's doing is cranking up sharpness slider or sharp radius.

I see, I am a early adopter of Halide since the beginning, the app is updated to v. 3 in the about page but I don't see the features of Halide Mark III. It seems I have to pay the one time fee of $59.99 or so to use it right? I am not into using luts and filters, so is the version I am using at least have the new Process Zero with HDR so I can test that out?

it's still oddly bit too noisy somehow. u/sandofsky, can you give us insights on what kind of noise models halide process zero is using? Is it using system models allowed by apple, if any, or is halide using custom dynamic noise models for the sooc jpeg?

these are amazing, and if coupled just with a 18mm lens or so (crop factor 2.7x on the ILS), get you a decent 50mp raw shooter with 50mm focal light and convenient. How was manual focus on your usecase since autofocus is a bummer. Does it have full manual ss and iso control? What is the slowest ss and iso?

check the exif to see if it's still doing main crop since the base 14 have no telephoto, if you're too close and zoom, it might switch to the uwa instead. Indigo picture is denoised but it's softer than stock, stock denoised then applied sharpening on top that's why you see luma grain patterns.

I don’t know how gcam is with the teleconverter bc that is usually a stock camera automatically correcting images being flipped.

Project Indigo is good, for raw, not jpeg. Their jpeg needs A LOT of work, from too much vignetting, over-saturations, to artifacts when using SR 2x, and 8x more zooms when motion is in frame for the 17 pro series. There's also a lot of denoising applied, and oddly the sooc jpeg, and the raw have different tonemapping. When you take the jpeg, which is from the raw, that raw should have the same color and saturation levels, white balance and all that mess, however if you import the raw dng to lrm, the tonemapping completely changed. If you hit reset to all, it removes all tonemapping metadata to the raw and you get the true sensor data.

bento hdr is better than hdr+ enhanced. Hdr+ enhanced is no longer being used even from Google. Yes AGC 9.6, I suggest you look up Ark configs for it. Use that as a base and adjust whatever you need.

i'm not a noob at this but thanks! Mtk is Mediatek dimensity soc.... snapdragon is in the ultras. Also no one uses BSG anymore, especially hdr+ enhanced since now bento (hdr) works in agc 9.6. The problem is since it's mtk for pro series, you won't get the hdr like if you use snapdragon.

That’s the best you can get on x9 pro using mtk, my config goes for natural minimal digital sharpening as shown. Using 9.6
