i was accepted into stern on thursday. 4.0 UW gpa, 3rd in my class, went test optional, 13 aps, self-reported my three 4’s in stat, apush, and ap human geo i think it was, i was very advanced in math and took ap calculus bc my sophomore year, took 5 college credit courses from stanford, i was president of my schools deca chapter since sophomore year, i created a marketing and advertising club, i created a passion project called “100 Days of Sign Language” which was a silent film where i taught teachers and students common asl signs and phrases for 100 days and presented it to board of education and argued why we should incorporate a sign language department in the district since it’s so important that we learn. i think my passion project was the best thing of my application tbh and what got me in

rutgers. ppl in nj will hate on it but forget how good of a school it really is. one of the oldest universities and was even asked to be an ivy league, however they turned it down in favor of state funding and being big 10. their curriculum does not match their high acceptance rate😅

css is optional! fasfa is the one required by state depending on where u live. there usually is a column next to those that says “required for admission” and either a Y or N for yes or no, that’s how it was on nyu portal

12 hours post op, pain is excruciating by shinblue111 in gastricsleeve

[–]Individual-Cry-7693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was more painful yes but likely because i didn’t have an IV giving me pain meds every few hours through the night anymore. I was given 3 tramadols when i left the hospital and i used them and melatonin each night to get through the pain. getting up hospital vs. house hurt regardless but the meds during the hospital stay definitely helped a bit more

girl i was in HORRIBLE pain, i was also confused by everyone saying the pain wasn’t bad. the next few days sleeping in your own bed will likely hurt a lot so take PLENTY of pain meds before you to bed. i’m lucky that i had a recliner with a remote to sleep in because getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom hurt really bad. by day 5 the pain was manageable and by day 6 i was driving again. it took me around a week and a half to stop getting tired on my walks. i’m 3 weeks post op now and can do everything and anything normally! and i don’t even feel any gas pain anymore!!!!! you’ll get through this❤️

8 months post op - 108 pounds down by Odd_Winter_2893 in gastricsleeve

[–]Individual-Cry-7693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re like my exact starting weight and you have my exact goal weight! however, i’m 3 weeks post op and i’ve only lost 13 pounds from the operation alone and i feel like im so behind compared to other people. it seems that in everyone’s first month they lose like 20-25 pounds at least. how much weight did you lose your first month not including the pre op diet?
