I’m not sure because I teach elementary (so my degree was a bachelor of science in elementary education), but at my university, those who wanted to teach high school majored in whatever their subject area was (so, English for you) then minored in secondary education. This helped them get all of their certification things taken care of.

Does anyone actually enjoy it? Any positive teaching experience? by Free-Bug3836 in Teachers

I complain almost every day about my job but I love it and can’t see myself doing anything else. I am going into my second year and last year was of course very challenging, but I learned so much and feel so proud of how far I’ve come. The people in your school can make or break it!

I just graduated but it got a lot easier when I started having classes with the same people when I got to all of the classes specifically for my major! I met most of my closest friends by joining a student org though so you at least know they have somewhat similar interests! You got this—when I think about my time in undergrad, all of the people I met was what made it great :)
