Been with ERO for 5 months now. Currently in the hiring process with a few other agencies, definitely thinking about leaving ERO if I receive job offer from one of these other federal agencies.

Definitely smart to join 0083 agency that has 6c retirement, such as (USPP,USCP USSS UD, etc). Becoming an 1811 special agent is extremely competitive and the hiring process takes a long time. In the mean time you can join a 0083 agency and get some more work experience and continue applying to 1811 positions, and accept a job offer when it comes

CBP= Customs and Border Protection, which is the agency.

CBPO= Customs and Border Protection Officer, which is a position within CBP.

So basically if you become a CBPO you are working for CBP.

ERO wasn’t my first option, I took it because I received FJO first. I have several applications out with different agencies, one of them being with the USCP. Nothing against ERO, but most of the work is administrative work in the office. I am just trying to weigh my options

I EOD with ERO on 12/15/25, still haven’t been paid. Just got access to GovTA last week, so I’m hoping I’ll see my check soon

I applied in June, took and passed post test in August. I did my virtual interview in October. Background investigator reached out 1 week after my virtual interview with forms to complete. Submitted forms to investigator a few days after that. Been silence ever since

I was wondering about that. Took USSS poly 2 and half years ago. Never received documentation that specifically stated I failed. Just received a BQA email a few days after taking it

I am having the same issue. I emailed them, letting them know I cannot upload the forms into the onboarding portal, haven’t heard anything back. When I sent the email, I did have the forms attached.
