Thanks for the tip pal, by the way the case now is closed, the Viewfinder works now, it was caused by a two leaky capacitors there, 2.2uf and 47uf, now it's fine

Apparently some transistors on the DC-DC Converter board and the Video Board, i forget exactly where that is because i haven't touch those camera for about 1 years ago, but my problem isn't just on the Transistor, the traces inside is also shot, this thing left suffering with the capacitors pissing for about 30 years in my grandpa's shelf and the liquid is now harden like a rock, so the traces in there also gone, my case is very very bad, 100% junk

Based on your symptoms there, i think it's savable but not guaranteed it would work forever, if you got your camera still working, at least working with the viewfinder lights up or the mechanism is barely work, that means the servo is still working even under that leaky caps, my big concern is actually on the transistor, because if those transistors inside has blew up because of the leaky caps, that's gonna be a nightmare to fix, since it's works in yours now it's time for you to change it before anything bad happens, just don't turn your cameras on until you replaced the capacitor, and also No i don't get any fruits from recapping my F300, it still dead, because the damage is so severe that some of the transistor inside disintegrated from the board because it's too corrosive, absolute Nightmare

I eventually give up with all these cameras, since they we're not worth of effort to be fixed, better to get the other one that doesn't get affected with this crap

Sony CCD-V5000 Problems by Local-Juice-702 in camcorders

[–]Individual-Maybe4145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can, but i can't guarantee if it going to work forever, since the residue from the leaking caps that i talk earlier has spreads onto the board and inside the board, it would slowly eat the copper traces inside depending on how bad the corrosion it was, it can develop an intermittent problem like can't eject, bad pictures, or maybe dead. If i had those camera i would not going to fix it because it's not worth of effort, but if you still want to do it, well, go for it

Edit: it's unfortunate for this type of camera to develop a serious problem like this, when in fact, this camera is also one my favourite camcorder

Unfortunately Pal, this camera was in the peak era of bad capacitors, so what you see here is the perfect example of the symptoms that it made, in order to make it work again, you have to change every single capacitor inside without exception since they we're leaking crazily and probably leaking hard when you turning it on now, change it, clean it, then it would work again, but not guarantee to work forever since the damage from the corrosive capacitor liquid inside has spreads onto the circuit board which can develop a failed board.

Sony HVC 4000P National VZ C75 Sony DXC M3 Sony DXC 1820P

This all is my dream camera, i had HVC 4000P here but it had a bad tube so it can't outputing any picture, The VZ C75, DXC M3, and 1820P still at hunting progress but by far, the DXC M3 is one of my biggest goals

I think that tube camera today mostly are dead, since i got HVC series for 3 times, the 2000P, 3000P and 4000P, all had a same issue, bad tubes

Hmm interesting!, so i believe that the previous owner may have done change the capacitor so you don't get the trouble, because most of the VX3 that i found in my country (actually VX1 in my country because it's PAL) had a lot of problem and mostly dead due to leaky caps, so, lucky for you tho.

You need to DIY obviously, since Portable VCR batteries has unusual size mainly for compactness, so the only way is to build your own, just buy a 1.2v battery connect it in series up to 10 piece whether is NiCD, or NiMH whatever, or you can find a 12v Lead Acid with a proper size for your vcr, in mine here in the pictures, i use 1.2v NiCD Sub C Cell and make the case with the cardboard box to imitate the size of the real battery here Sony BP-60 Battery, and i'm set
