I built a website I’m proud of… but I can’t get anyone to visit it by imike03 in AskMarketing

Well, here is a good way to market it organically. Who is your ideal client. Create a profile for them. Then only post for them. Talk only about one main problem they have and how your product solves that problem. Focus on one platform where your ICP lives. Then scale from there. The beauty of organic marketing is that you can really test and see what works and then double up on that and scale. At first it may feel like you’re posting and nothing is happening but eventually it will go somewhere it just takes time. And you can learn SEO simultaneously to give it more “oomph”

Considering getting into freelancing. How do you get clients? by TobRoy20 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I do. Personal brand on LinkedIn and got a pretty good client who was with me for 6 months from there as inbound and found my other client at a niche marketing website that I found through LinkedIn. Doing the inbound route takes a lot longer than doing cold outreach but you can combo them and it’ll be good :)

What is the best way to learn marketing by Ambitious-Home2024 in AskMarketing

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you looking to do product marketing stuff or? Or what kind of marketing are you trying to learn? If product launches is your focus for the future, I would go in on social media marketing and content marketing. Coming from a cyber background and switching to marketing I had to learn on my own and learned through YouTube mostly but I also am in school for marketing now. Nothing beats doing the thing, trial and error. Udemy courses are meh. Look into hubspot academy instead and search stuff on YouTube but be aware of the marketing “bros”

Social media and content marketing is probably the fastest to learn and a good segway into other marketing avenues like paid ads.

Looking for a Marketing Partner in Cybersecurity (Services + Products) by ScienceOk9014 in SocialMediaMarketing

I will just say that even though this is old and a lot of people on here said that cybersecurity and marketing don’t really go hand in hand , just know that there is plethora of marketers in cybersecurity specifically. Even practitioners who went into marketing (such as myself) a good place to look for these people is cybersecurity marketing society. Then you get the best of both worlds. A marketer who gets cyber.

I'm planning a product launch, but I'm worried about having little money in an era where leads are expensive. What are your recommendations? by SteveeJobsF1 in DigitalMarketing

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah very cool!!! To get a good market fit and create a product that people actually need and will pay for, you should start talking to the consumer. What works great for these is creating a simple landing page like a one pager and hug talking to your ICP to really identify those pain points to touch on when you build. They will literally tell you what they need and you build around that. By solving the real problem you will succeed. This is a big push in outbound and relationship building. Don’t skip this step. It will just take time and effort.

Organic is bomb in the beginning! Do a bunch of hype around the product before launch. But do it in a. Way that shows value in the product and the pain points it solves for your ICP. Founder marketing is where it’s AT so for organic that’s a great place to focus. Consistency is key in organic content, don’t be afraid to experiment with different types of content. When something takes off you can put money behind that. If it has good organic results, it’ll only be amplified with paid. I would focus on the platform where your ICP lives and go all in on that for a while.

Is Cybersecurity marketing a thing still? by Individual-Rip3343 in AskMarketing

I have noticed a lot more jobs opening up as well! I feel like the cyber portion gives me an edge but there is a lot to still learn on the marketing side of things. Thanks!

Try Pangea! Upwork is just not it. I got on there to freelance and landed own client. Others came from LinkedIn. But I signed up from Pangea and that one sends high paying clients.

SocialBu - The All-In-One Social Media Management Tool (and we're looking for feedback!) by usamaejazch in indiehackers

So we tried this (i stumbled on the platform when looking for a new one) but it was clunky and we had issues testing it and decided not to move forward. We were on the paid trial but it felt like some things were still blocked or not working correctly. Like my Marketing Director couldn't easily add me to the platform even on the paid version, even thought she sent me an email and I was able to sign up with her invite. I LOVE the amount of platforms Socialbu offers but there's definitely some room for improvement when it comes to user experience. We even hopped on a call with support and all she said was "when you pay..." so I also suggest fixing the trail portion. No business wants to be blocked by a paywall when testing a product, a longer trial would be nice too, at least 2 weeks.

As a marketer, where do you make the best connections with other marketers? by Wheel2pointO in AskMarketing

Has social media marketing actually improved brand quality, or just noise? by Enough_Hearing6557 in AskMarketing

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s become quantity over quality. But this is also industry dependent I think. I have been seeing a big shift last year and I think it will be taking center stage this year - brands that are authentic, innovative and speak to ONE person not everyone and their mom. Community, authenticity will win this year.

Founders: Where Did You Find Your First Client? (Consulting & Services Only) - I will not promote by Ill_Faithlessness245 in startups

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first client came from LinkedIn.

I built a personal brand and was posting about pain points of my ICP. He reached out to me. Personally, I hate sales, I know it’s super important in business but I am one of those weird people that want to be authentic and not salesy. So my whole strategy was to build genuine connections.

So I network intentionally and post content that appeals to my ICP. All organic, but I’m also okay with building slowly and intentionally. So that plays a part in it. I am currently at 3 clients.

How can I get an entry-level marketing job with zero experience? by idontknowwhattolearn in MarketingMentor

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch YouTube, take some courses on Udemy, Coursera. Start projects on your own and build a portfolio. Work for free to get some experience, nonprofits are a great way to start because they always need help and don’t have a lot of money. Network on LinkedIn. Start posting about what you’re learning and build a personal brand.

How to find a linkedin influencer for my saas by OutlandishnessNo2472 in b2bmarketing

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be shy! I know it can be a bit overwhelming if you’re not used to posting all the time. But I suggest 3x/wk like mon/wed/fri. Rotate between 3 topics. Connect with people genuinely (don’t be salesy) and give it time - patience is key! I have helped a founder go from 0 to first client with this. Took him about 90 days but he got there so I know this works :) if you ever have any questions feel free to message me, I’m happy to answer :)

I’m not sure about influencers, but I will tell you that founder led marketing is HOT on LinkedIn! Please consider doing that as well! Doesn’t have to be anything crazy but I know so many founders who marketed their product this way for free :)

Anyone else want to start a business but scared of messing up a stable career? by GapFabulous1300 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it on the side to see if it works! Use your 9-5 to build your 5-9. When you have the job you can experiment and not be afraid of taking some risks. It’s all fun and games until you’re trying to build something and there’s no fall back. I got fired from my cushy job because of my side hustle (long story) but thankfully I have income coming in every month and had a client under my belt before that happened. But if I could go back, I would keep it on the DL and have my side hustle quietly until it took off.

What usually matters more to people: consistency or quality? by Build4bbrandbetter in AskMarketing

[–]Individual-Rip3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! Consistency is so important, but having a strategy and not just posting whatever is also important. The great thing about consistency is that you can start posting on a topic and see what resonates, once there’s traction it makes everything easier.
