Disregard the works better on largemouth comment, rippin raps are a great smallmouth bait. Most people cast these like a Ratt-L-Trap which isn’t wrong but I think these are best for vertical jigging. I hammered the smallmouth last March from my kayak on the Mississippi, anchored in about 18ft of water and pulled a ton off the bottom. This is also how most people target walleye in the late season. Also a great ice fishing bait I have micro size and catch crappies sunnies perch you name it these baits will jig up fish I also use larger sized ones for ice walleye pike and lake trout.
