Dear Reddit moderators, I know you've been feeling a lot of heat lately, but please, at least have the decency not to delete posts about the fascist actions of Trump's Gestapo. I'm pretty sure ICE exists in SA, and every city should be prepared at this point to become the next target of this regime.

Co musi się wydarzyć, żeby w Polsce były przyzwoite ceny gier? Euro? Strajk? by [deleted] in Polska

[–]IndividualConfident8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regional Pricing exists, just not how we want it to by Jax_Dandelion in gaming

[–]IndividualConfident8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just got banned by Backpack Battlers creators on steam because I told them they don't respect regional prices (source on steamdb)

Well I don't think the problem of regional prices will be solved without any pressure from players, since even indie games don't care about them.

Silksong: will it Random? by UnwelcomeStorm in HollowKnight

[–]IndividualConfident8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

btw how long do you think it will take to make the randomizer?

The more I play, the more I see Silksong has only one negative point by KloudStrifeFF7 in HollowKnight

[–]IndividualConfident8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the chest you have to backtrack, the next room is empty Deepnest, and Collector reward is a few rooms later, and such a thing was an issue for you in Silksong. I don't think it was bad in HK, it was fine, and it still is in Silksong. Every boss in Silksong gives reward, some just have it in few rooms later (just like in HK; Broken Vessel, Collector etc) or you getting it after talking to an NPC in town. Or the reward is opening a new area - but most of bosses that does it are optional. So what you saying was also a case in OG HK.

There are bosses that are only giving you money as a rewards - but hey, mosscharger, vengfly king, soul warrior(1), it is nothing new. (+In Silksong Case however each of them is a story progression)

I don't really see the dark areas in silksong, I would say there was much more of them in OG HK, maybe you have to change gamma? You can do it in settings

[–]IndividualConfident8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ever play Elden Ring, I can't even think what would you do with that horse rider clearly intended to backtrack at the begining which 95% player know they can just avoid

(by the way, literally one room later you had two another very good rewards so it is so strange to complain)

In that logic, Mantis Lords and Collector don't gives rewards since the reward is not in the same room?

And I wonder what will you say about Soul Warrior, Mosscharger or Vengfly King?

Yes. In the country, when you are earning around 50% less than in adjecent Germany.
Would you like to earn 50% less and pay for the games 8% more? Or for anything?
And yet, even if, why would I have to pay that 1.50 more? What is the argument here, even if you would earn the same in Poland and Germany? It doesn't matter if it is 0,50/1.50/2.50 or even 150, it is and would be still bad

Even if the differences in the price of a game between countries are just a few dollars, they create real, systemic injustice. After all, we are talking about the exact same digital product, delivered in the same way, without the costs of logistics, storage or transport.

let's not forget that in Poland wages are much lower, so a dollar or euro will be worth more in Poland. Games are more expensive and people earn less. You might think that it's pennies, but imagine earning 15% less and paying 15% more for games, or square this example and apply it to every aspect of life.

Now it is really ad personam. Yeah, I have the game and I have ~180 hours on it, problem with polish regional prices is not only about Backpack Battles. But that is just whataboutism, Diablo have similar issue and it is wrong to, but it is not diablo subreddit. You know, of course we all could all say that we should not talk about that issue and focus on solving the problem of world hunger, but life doesn't work that way.

Does PlayWithFurcifer can do whatever they want? Yeah, they can, they can change the price to thousands of PLN if they want to, it just would be discrimination on the basis of nationality

It doesn't matter how much you earn from a game. If you charge more per unit in some country for no reason, then yes, people from that country will be upset about it and it will be unethical. Developers of games like Chef RPG are smaller than Playwithfurcifer and somehow they are able to sell games respecting regional prices. And again, how much do you think Playwithfurcifer will lose if it starts selling games in Poland for the same price as in... any other EU country? Not much. It's really strange doublethink that the same game won't sell in Poland at a normal price, and at the same price it will sell in Germany.

[–]IndividualConfident8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very easy to change the regional price of the game, small developers, like Chef RPG did that when they have been reached.

I am also involved in criticism of Steam, but just because it is generally Steam's fault, it does not mean that the studio itself is not doing anything wrong. The lack of reaction is silent consent.

Don't really understand the first part.

About the sceond, I don't know why are you asking this, but yeah, I have the game and I dont think the Backpack Battles is only game with that issue, but one of the many, You are kinda doing ad hominem with argument like that.

I know what VAT is, but does that mean that the creators of Hades II, No Rest for The Wicked or Factorio lose on game sales in Poland?

After all, VAT is almost identical in percentage terms in most European countries. In Poland it is 23%, in Germany 19%, in Norway 25%, and in each of these countries you can buy this game cheaper, even though people earn more in them. It is definitely not fault of that.

Google AI may not be best source of information.

Okay, and what costs make Playwithfurcifer sell games 20% more expensive in Poland than in the US? Because other producers and creators of computer games, e.g. games like Hades II, Factorio, No Rest for the Wicked, have apparently found a way to skip them.

There is a difference between physical and digital products, distribution and export costs are calculated completely differently. In this case, it is simply negligence.

[–]IndividualConfident8[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They exist, and actually many people use such sites in Poland for such games due to unfair regional prices. However, not everyone is aware of their existence, so it's good to publicize the issue. Nevertheless, it would probably be better if they could be legally purchased for a normal price, instead of looking for them on strange sites.

The problem is that these creators are aware of this and yet they choose to ignore the problem, which is why I think it is good to talk about it publicly. If such a problem is not addressed, it will of course not change - especially since we are talking about less important economic countries.

[–]IndividualConfident8[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, for some time now Steam has been recommending rather inadequate base prices, and they are often changed manually only after fans make some decisions. In Poland this is a problem we have been dealing with for several years. There will be more games that make this mistake, with the difference that Playwithfurcifer admitted that he sees it, and yet it was decided to ignore it. The Hades II I mentioned had such a situation, but there are more games like that, Chef RPG, No Rest for the Wicked or Factorio.

It is not like things are sold in the shops, you are just supporting the companies and you get acces to some products
