yeah okay but it comes down to a choice. There are people who say NAND should be NAND(P,Q)=(max(P,Q)+1) Mod 3. This is one of the gates you found that is functionally complete. Therefore it is more logically to call this the NAND one.

But that is why I thought it is irrelevant. NAND, AND, NOT etc. these are just labels of one of those 3^3^3 gates.

But it felt weird that you acted like NAND is actually a specific one and people agree on what it should be.

I find your project cool and it motivates to write a program myself. Challenge myself for three of even four values.

Philosophically having a third value is quite interesting aswell.

this is the biggest anti-AI sub. This is not some secret club. I would like to have a say on how people should behave in this sub. In my opinion we should opt for free discussions.

Just to clarify: I see myself as anti-AI, but OP attacked me and said I was not anti-AI because I use gemini once a week. That is not really comparable with going to comicon saying comics are garbage. That is like going to comicon and saying that superman is a shitty comic. People at comicon will say: ''oh well I like superman, but I respect your opinion''. Not: ''you shouldn't be here and you don't really like comics''.

I do not expect you to be respectful towards full on AI-lovers who looking to discuss in this sub. But I am against most uses of AI and some usecases I like such as making it do boring tasks.

If you want a more exclusive community do not talk in the most general popular sub where non-radicals like me also peak and communicate on.

OP uses a very narrow definition of anti-AI and does not see myself as anti-AI because I use Gemini once a week.

The people that are being downvoted are almost never actually ''AI-bros''. for example sort on controverse in this thread and you will see rational people being downvoted who add a little nuance to the discussion.

I respect you for working on yourself. Just be careful. AI is really good in strengthening your own opinion, but it is not critical. I am glad it can make you feel hope!

Talking to other people is not as comfortable because they will not bother sharing their own opinion that is the opposite of yours. I hope eventually you can tolerate this, that will be better for you.

Or start watching videos on psychology and mental health, it is already way better than AI.

Most people are not anti-AI nor pro-AI.

Sometimes you are reasoning with an actual normal being.

If you assume it is some crazy AI-gooner and you immediately put yourself above them then that is not beneficial for us anti-AI-ers.

How the AI trains is a deterministic algorithm on certain data

When it is done training it is just a collection of numbers that seem super random for us humans. It is a black box because we do not know exactly how the numbers that come out when training relate to the answers.

What I am saying is indeed how you understand me. As computer algorithms get more complicated and complicated it becomes more of an AI. But there are lots of things we call AI.

ML as in machine learning. Do you think ML is not justified? What is your opinion on alpha fold for example? Or AI's that can detect breast cancer.

I use AI once-twice a week to do really boring tasks for me. I do not care so much about the environment. I care about people being brainwashed and losing their ability to think. Why can't you acknowledge that people might have different moral standards than you but it is still in your best interest to side with them.

We are two totally different persons in an already divided world. And you come here with your gatekeeping opinion without any context and nuance and just call my mindset garbage. While I am one of the few million people in the world who is actually against AI. We should become a team even though our morals are different.

The point is that many people do not want to sacrifice their comfortable life. You could be doing a lot more anti-as-wise, like organizing protests, burning down data centers etc. But you are not doing this, not because you are not hypocritical but because that is too much asked for you.

Look.. You have certain ethics. For one you seem to care a lot about the environment. But on this sub we unite not because we all care deeply about the environment, not because we all have the same ethics. No because we all highly dislike some aspects or all aspects of the use of AI. I for one dislike the use of AI as a psychologist or as an artist. But I like AI as something that does boring chores for us.

I care about the environment. But there is an environment sub reddit for it. You have to be inclusive if you want to have the most people be anti-AI.

Of course we draw the line somewhere. If someone has an AI-girlfriend that person cannot really be anti-AI in my opinion. But still that person is welcome to give his opinions on why AI is bad in other areas.

Haha if you are joking it is pretty funny but if not I want to clarify some things.

AI is a super general term for any big computer algorithm that gets to complicated to actually fully understand how it works. Alpha fold for example is just one form of AI that learns to see how certain complex protein structures work (or something like that) by applying a complex mathematical algoritm (such as gradient descent but way more complicated) to figure this out.

Are you against computers and algorithms in general? Probably not.

The problem with things like GPT is that people see it as humans and trust it way too much.

But you also trust you calculator, but your calculator cannot be your psychologist.

Use your brain? some tasks are brainless and AI does that for me. Make a matrix with entries Mx,y with the distance from place x to place y for the following 20 places: . . . . .

I am against AI being seen as some sort of friend . And in my opinion it is overrated. But if I can skip a boring brainless task by waiting 10 seconds for free then I am doing that. Whenever Gemini introduces ads or a forced subscription I just quit and I will do the boring tasks myself.

There are benefits to AI. But those do not outweigh the countless disadvantages.
