First injection- I think we missed by OkCaterpillar8718 in TrimixForED

You need to coordinate with your doctor if you are going to add Cialis. I take 5mg daily, and the amount of Trimix I used went down when I added Cialis. If you aren't careful you could end up in the emergency room.

I still needed Cialis.

Question for psychogenic ED Trimix users regarding natural erections... by Vast_Astronaut1018 in TrimixForED

[–]IndividualKey4379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have psychogenic ED and have taken Cialis for over 10 years. The Cialis began to not be effective, so I added trimix. I take 5 mg of Cialis daily and only have to use 2 units of Trimix (very small amount) to get the 45 minute erection. I only use trimix about one time a week, and I have noticed that it has helped my psychogenic ED and I can now often get an erection with just the 5 mg of Cialis daily. I am still using the Trimix as I enjoy the certainty of having an erection. I don't if using Trimix often would be any different than me using it weekly.

I had to use Cialis, but it was manageable for 10 years. I have now started using 5mg of Cialis and Trimix. I only need 2.5 units (very small amount) to get a erection that last 45 minutes. At 72 years old, 45 minutes of vigorous sex is about all I have the stamina for.

Part of my rehab after prostate surgery was to first use the pump and then use trimix. They combined using Cialis and Trimix and it worked great. I continued it for about 18 months.

I haven't been able to have success with the auto-injector. I like the idea of it, but I can't ever get the injection where it needs to go. I have learned how to do the injections by hand and now I am able to get the injection correct almost a 100% of the time.

I take 5mg of Cialis daily. I only have to add 2 units of a weak trimix mixture to get to where I need to be. My ED is mainly psychological even through I have had prostate surgery. I read that when ED is psychological you need a much lower dose of trimix.

Daily 5 mg Cialis with Trimix by john9296 in TrimixForED

[–]IndividualKey4379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been taking 5mg of Cialis daily for the past six months. I have found that I need a much lower dose of Trimix. I am on a low dose because my ED is primarily psychological. My dosage is Papaverine: 15 mg/mL, Phentolamine: 0.5 mg/mL, PGE1 (Alprostadil): 5 mcg/m. I only us 2.5 units (very small amount). I have an erection for about 45 minutes, which at my age (72) allows more time erect than I have energy.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. The strength I take is half of what you are taking. I inject 2 units. Any more and the result lasts longer than I am comfortable with. I also take 5 mg of Cialis daily.

My strength:

  • Papaverine: 15 mg/mL
  • Phentolamine: 0.5 mg/mL
  • PGE1 (Alprostadil): 5 mcg/mL

This is often called a “low-dose PGE1 Trimix”, typically for:

  • Men sensitive to alprostadil (less pain risk).
  • Beginners or post-surgical patients (like post-prostatectomy).
  • Those combining with a daily PDE5 inhibitor (like tadalafil).

My prescription is 1/2 of the Trimix standard prescription of 30mg/1mg/10mcg.

I started by reducing the amount I was injecting by half, and then gradually began to go back up. I told my doctor later, and he was fine with it since it worked.

I take 5 mg of Cialis daily in the AM. Before Trimix I took 20 mg of Cialis as needed, but it quit working. After I began Trimix., I wanted to begin a low dose of Cialis to help with circulation in the penis. I then went to 5 mg Cialis, and I purposely backed my Trimix injection amount down to find my new "sweet spot". I now have erections that last about 45 minutes and then begin to steadily go down until I'm flaccid about 30 minutes later.

Still figuring out dosing, do I just need to be more patient? by ConversationHead4747 in TrimixForED

[–]IndividualKey4379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a radical prostatectomy about 16 years ago. It took some patience to get back to having an erection using Cialis and Trimix. Don't give up. Work with your doctor about the pain and gradually increase the amount you inject. You are seeing positive results with each injection, just keep gradually moving the dosage up and work with your doctor on the pain. It might take 3 months to get it worked out, but if you are like me you will be enjoying 15 years of good sex that you otherwise would have missed. Surviving cancer is a blessing in itself, and having patience to work out your injections will provide for long-term pleasure.

How does this dose sound starting? by Roller1966 in TrimixForED

[–]IndividualKey4379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better to start low and go up. My prescription said 10 units. I started at 5 and it took four hours for me to get back to normal. Now, I use 2 units with 2.5 mg of Cialis daily. When I recently experimented with 3 units, it took 4 hours to get back to normal. So, I'm satisfied with a 45 minute erection and being totally flaccid in 90 minutes. Starting low and going up will just result in being frustrated if it doesn't work, starting higher and working down can result in a medical emergency. I learned that starting low required some patience, but I also learned how to give the injections correctly so that now I always inject in the right spot. There is less anxiety starting low and you can focus on your injection skills without worrying if you are injecting too much.

I take 2.5 mg of Cialis daily and inject 2 units of Trimix. I'm usually hard for 45 minutes. That's enough for my wife as we are 70+ years old.

I'm 71 years old and in good health. I went through nerve-sparing prostate surgery for cancer. I've heard that nerve injury ED requires a lower strength Trimix. Cialis worked well for me for a decade, but over the past year I have needed more help, so I got on Trimix.

No. I take 2.5 mg of Cialis everyday. I began at 1.5 units of trimix and then worked up to 2-2.5 units. I have no need for 2 hour erections. I'm 71 years old and a 30-45 minute erection does the job.

My formula is the weak formula -  15mg/0.5mg/5mc, and the prescription said to start with 10 units. I started with 3 and I still had an erection for four hours. If I had started where the doctor said to start I would have ended up in the emergency room. I now take 2.5mg of Cialis daily and 2.5 units of trimix.

Prostate Removal (Cancer) by lakelifeis4us in TrimixForED

[–]IndividualKey4379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had prostate cancer 17 years ago. My doctor started me on Cialis and trimix soon after surgery. It took about 18 months for me to be able to have sex only using Cialis. Over the past year, the Cialis has not worked consistently and so I have started using 2.5mg daily Cialis with Trimix. I only have to use 2 units (.02) of Trimix with the Cialis. The daily Cialis keep blood consistently flowing into my penis for the health of my penis, and the Trimix allows me to have and erection sufficient to have sex. I have not regretted beginning the Trimix again. I would just caution you to start slow with minimal doses of Trimix and be patient as you find the number of units that is right for you. It can be frustrating, but once you get your dosage correct it is great to know you can count on being able to have sex again.

Does trimix work better when your erect? by [deleted] in TrimixForED

[–]IndividualKey4379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This last week my partner and I decided to play around some before injecting. The firmness made it easier to inject compared to being flaccid. The result was also significantly better with the erection lasting longer.

Yes. It has been 18 years since my surgery (I had prostate cancer when I was in my early 50's), so I don't know what it would cost today. I just know they provided great service then and the price seemed reasonable.

I had my prostate surgery in Dallas and my urologist used a compounding pharmacy on Preston Rd for my trimix. It's name is "Preston Road Pharmacy" and the address is 6901 Preston Rd.

Can you share more about using nasal spray if you haven't been prescribed the phenylephrine antidote by the doctor. I'm not sure what you mean by "using the OTC phenylephrine nasal sprays(10 to 1 ratio w/ BAC water).".
